This He said, and after this He* said to them,“ Our friend Lazarus has fallen asleep; but I am going so that I may awaken him from sleep.”

既言此、又曰、我儕之友拉撒路寢、我往醒之、

既又曰：『吾輩之友賴柴魯睡矣、吾將醒之。』

After he had said this, he went on to tell them,“ Our friend Lazarus has fallen asleep; but I am going there to wake him up.”

After he said this, Jesus went on speaking to them.“ Our friend Lazarus has fallen asleep,” he said.“ But I am going there to wake him up.”

After saying these things, he said to them,“ Our friend Lazarus has fallen asleep, but I go to awaken him.”

Then he said,“ Our friend Lazarus has fallen asleep, but now I will go and wake him up.”

He said this, and then he told them,“ Our friend Lazarus has fallen asleep, but I’m on my way to wake him up.”

These things He said, and after that He said to them,“ Our friend Lazarus sleeps, but I go that I may wake him up.”

These things spake he: and after this he saith unto them, Our friend Lazarus is fallen asleep; but I go, that I may awake him out of sleep.

He said this, and then He told them,“ Our friend Lazarus has fallen asleep, but I’m on My way to wake him up.”

These things said he: and after that he saith unto them, Our friend Lazarus sleepeth; but I go, that I may awake him out of sleep.

After he said this, he added,“ Our friend Lazarus has fallen asleep. But I am going there to awaken him.”

He said these things, and after that, he said to them,“ Our friend, Lazarus, has fallen asleep, but I am going so that I may awake him out of sleep.”

And many of those who sleep in the dust of the ground will awake, these to everlasting life, but the others to disgrace and everlasting contempt.

And after entering, He* said to them,“ Why are you making a commotion and weeping? The child has not died, but is asleep.”

Then he fell on his knees and cried out with a loud voice,“ Lord, do not hold this sin against them!” Having said this, he fell asleep.

He said,“ Leave; for the girl has not died, but is asleep.” And they began laughing at Him.

For if we believe that Jesus died and rose from the dead, so also God will bring with Him those who have fallen asleep through Jesus.For we say this to you by the word of the Lord, that we who are alive and remain until the coming of the Lord will not precede those who have fallen asleep.

Now Jesus had spoken of his death, but they thought that He was speaking about actual sleep.

For this reason it says,“ Awake, sleeper, And arise from the dead, And Christ will shine on you.”

who died for us, so that whether we are awake or asleep, we will live together with Him.

Behold, I am telling you a mystery; we will not all sleep, but we will all be changed,

Also the tombs were opened, and many bodies of the saints who had fallen asleep were raised;

So the sisters sent word to Him, saying,“ Lord, behold, he whom You love is sick.”

So the Lord used to speak to Moses face to face, just as a man speaks to his friend. When Moses returned to the camp, his servant Joshua, the son of Nun, a young man, would not depart from the tent.

Did You not, our God, drive out the inhabitants of this land from Your people Israel, and give it to the descendants of Your friend Abraham forever?

The Lord said to Moses,“ Behold, you are about to lie down with your fathers; and this people will arise and play the prostitute with the foreign gods of the land into the midst of which they are going, and they will abandon Me and break My covenant which I have made with them.

Sober up morally and stop sinning, for some have no knowledge of God. I say this to your shame.

He who has the bride is the groom; but the friend of the groom, who stands and listens to him, rejoices greatly because of the groom’s voice. So this joy of mine has been made full.

and the Scripture was fulfilled which says,“ And Abraham believed God, and it was credited to him as righteousness,” and he was called a friend of God.

Greater love has no one than this, that a person will lay down his life for his friends.You are My friends if you do what I command you.No longer do I call you slaves, for the slave does not know what his master is doing; but I have called you friends, because all things that I have heard from My Father I have made known to you.

Truly, truly, I say to you, a time is coming and even now has arrived, when the dead will hear the voice of the Son of God, and those who hear will live.For just as the Father has life in Himself, so He gave to the Son also to have life in Himself;and He gave Him authority to execute judgment, because He is the Son of Man.Do not be amazed at this; for a time is coming when all who are in the tombs will hear His voice,and will come out: those who did the good deeds to a resurrection of life, those who committed the bad deeds to a resurrection of judgment.

And when He had said these things, He cried out with a loud voice,“ Lazarus, come out!”Out came the man who had died, bound hand and foot with wrappings, and his face was wrapped around with a cloth. Jesus* said to them,“ Unbind him, and let him go.”

“ But you, Israel, My servant, Jacob whom I have chosen, Descendant of Abraham My friend,

Then also those who have fallen asleep in Christ have perished.
