It was he who gave some as apostles, some as prophets, some as evangelists, and some as pastors and teachers,to equip the saints for the work of ministry, that is, to build up the body of Christ,until we all attain to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God– a mature person, attaining to the measure of Christ’s full stature.So we are no longer to be children, tossed back and forth by waves and carried about by every wind of teaching by the trickery of people who craftily carry out their deceitful schemes.But practicing the truth in love, we will in all things grow up into Christ, who is the head.

But Jehoshaphat asked,“ Is there not a prophet of the LORD still here, that we may ask him?”

For there will be a time when people will not tolerate sound teaching. Instead, following their own desires, they will accumulate teachers for themselves, because they have an insatiable curiosity to hear new things.

So get rid of all evil and all deceit and hypocrisy and envy and all slander.And yearn like newborn infants for pure, spiritual milk, so that by it you may grow up to salvation,if you have experienced the Lord’s kindness.

They will maintain the outward appearance of religion but will have repudiated its power. So avoid people like these.For some of these insinuate themselves into households and captivate weak women who are overwhelmed with sins and led along by various passions.Such women are always seeking instruction, yet never able to arrive at a knowledge of the truth.

They went out from us, but they did not really belong to us, because if they had belonged to us, they would have remained with us. But they went out from us to demonstrate that all of them do not belong to us.

So listen carefully, for whoever has will be given more, but whoever does not have, even what he thinks he has will be taken from him.”
