又曰『爾為司祭、永世靡替、與麥基德、同一班次。』基督在世之日、大聲疾呼涕淚漣如、哀求全能者拯之出死、卒以其克懷寅畏、而蒙垂聽。夫基督聖子也、猶須備嘗艱辛、身體孝道、迨其純全無缺、乃成永救之源、俾凡歸順之者、咸得被澤而獲濟焉。

父之愛予、以予舍生；惟予將復取生焉。

今所見者、乃耶穌降生為人時、本輸天神一籌、俾藉天主之聖寵、為普世生靈親嘗死亡之味；及其既死、則已冠以光榮尊貴之冕矣。

第予欲使世人知予愛父、而一切惟父之命是從。起矣！與予偕往！』

耶穌應曰：『爾試摧毀斯殿、予將於三日內重建之。』猶太人曰：『此殿歷四十六載始成、爾乃欲以三日重建耶？』顧耶穌所言之殿、乃指其身。

主待我何厚。恩德多且奇。聖蹟日日新。浩蕩誰與比。我欲咏大德。大德超言詞。祭祀與燔牲。非主之所喜。所喜惟耳順。翼翼承甘旨。願將爾天書。

予之所以降自天上者、非欲行己之志、乃欲行遣予者之志；

汝試思之、予豈不能求之吾父、即遣十二營以上之天神以臨之？如是則經所載必經之事、又將安從而應驗耶？』顧語眾曰：『爾手刃持梃、捕予一如捕盜。予曩者日坐殿中施訓於爾、何不執之？然此亦所以應驗先知所紀耳。』至是、門徒盡離耶穌、奔逃四散矣。

眾對曰：『納匝勒之耶穌！』耶穌告之曰：『是我！』時奸徒茹答斯亦立眾中。耶穌甫言：「是我、」眾皆逡巡仆地。

基督為吾人自舍其身、正欲拯贖吾人、脫免一切罪惡、加以洗滌、俾得充其子民、發憤為善云耳。

爾能守吾之誡、所以保吾之愛也；正如吾守吾父之誡、而至今猶保其愛焉。

夫彼神也、與天主等齊而不居焉、乃屈尊紆貴、甘自為僕、而降生為人。其為人也、復謙之又謙、損之又損、惟天主之命是從；鞠躬盡瘁、死而後已、終至致命於十字架上。

爾曹殘殺生命之主、而天主則已使之起死回生吾儕實為其證。

眾子既具血肉之體、聖子亦曾具血肉之體；其所以然者、乃欲通過死亡之關以滅彼掌握死權之沙殫、而救拔一切呻吟於死亡淫威下之生靈耳。

燔祭贖罪祭、非爾所樂意；吾曰：吾來矣、經中有明示；吁嗟吾天主、吾願行爾旨。』首節所謂「牲牷」、「祭禮」、「燔祭」、「贖罪祭」、「皆非爾所喜」者、悉屬律法之事也。繼乃曰：「我來」「行爾旨；」是則前者廢而後者立矣。吾人之所以得賴耶穌之一獻其身而罪累全釋者、亦憑斯「旨」而已矣。

天主為解苦厄、使之復活、死固不足以限之也。

予乃良牧；良牧不惜舍身致命、以保其羊、

予不能有所擅行、惟依予之所聞、而為黜陟、予既不徇私意、一遵遣予者之意而行故予之黜陟、乃公正無偏。

天主之復活耶穌、吾儕實為見證。

耶穌對曰：『設非自天所授、爾亦焉能有權於我哉！是故交予於爾者、厥罪尤大。』

正猶父之識予、予之識父也、予且為吾羊舍身致命焉。
