This is why the Father loves Me, because I am laying down My life so I may take it up again.

The reason my Father loves me is that I lay down my life— only to take it up again.

The reason my Father loves me is that I give up my life. But I will take it back again.

For this reason the Father loves me, because I lay down my life that I may take it up again.

“ The Father loves me because I sacrifice my life so I may take it back again.

This is why the Father loves me, because I lay down my life so that I may take it up again.

“ I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep.

No one takes it from Me, but I lay it down on My own. I have the right to lay it down, and I have the right to take it up again. I have received this command from My Father.”

But we do see Jesus— made lower than the angels for a short time so that by God’s grace He might taste death for everyone— crowned with glory and honor because of His suffering in death.

He was oppressed and afflicted, yet He did not open His mouth. Like a lamb led to the slaughter and like a sheep silent before her shearers, He did not open His mouth.He was taken away because of oppression and judgment; and who considered His fate? For He was cut off from the land of the living; He was struck because of my people’s rebellion.They made His grave with the wicked and with a rich man at His death, although He had done no violence and had not spoken deceitfully.Yet the Lord was pleased to crush Him severely. When You make Him a restitution offering, He will see His seed, He will prolong His days, and by His hand, the Lord’s pleasure will be accomplished.He will see it out of His anguish, and He will be satisfied with His knowledge. My righteous Servant will justify many, and He will carry their iniquities.Therefore I will give Him the many as a portion, and He will receive the mighty as spoil, because He submitted Himself to death, and was counted among the rebels; yet He bore the sin of many and interceded for the rebels.

as the Father knows Me, and I know the Father. I lay down My life for the sheep.

“ As the Father has loved Me, I have also loved you. Remain in My love.If you keep My commands you will remain in My love, just as I have kept My Father’s commands and remain in His love.

“ This is My Servant; I strengthen Him, this is My Chosen One; I delight in Him. I have put My Spirit on Him; He will bring justice to the nations.

Father, I desire those You have given Me to be with Me where I am. Then they will see My glory, which You have given Me because You loved Me before the world’s foundation.Righteous Father! The world has not known You. However, I have known You, and these have known that You sent Me.I made Your name known to them and will make it known, so the love You have loved Me with may be in them and I may be in them.

The Lord was pleased, because of His righteousness, to magnify His instruction and make it glorious.

Then a dispute arose between John’s disciples and a Jew about purification.

I have glorified You on the earth by completing the work You gave Me to do.Now, Father, glorify Me in Your presence with that glory I had with You before the world existed.
