and not for the nation only, but also to gather into one the children of God who are scattered abroad.

For you were straying like sheep, but have now returned to the Shepherd and Overseer of your souls.

And I will set up over them one shepherd, my servant David, and he shall feed them: he shall feed them and be their shepherd.

“ My servant David shall be king over them, and they shall all have one shepherd. They shall walk in my rules and be careful to obey my statutes.

But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far off have been brought near by the blood of Christ.For he himself is our peace, who has made us both one and has broken down in his flesh the dividing wall of hostilityby abolishing the law of commandments expressed in ordinances, that he might create in himself one new man in place of the two, so making peace,and might reconcile us both to God in one body through the cross, thereby killing the hostility.And he came and preached peace to you who were far off and peace to those who were near.For through him we both have access in one Spirit to the Father.

All that the Father gives me will come to me, and whoever comes to me I will never cast out.

My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me.

He was still speaking when, behold, a bright cloud overshadowed them, and a voice from the cloud said,“ This is my beloved Son, with whom I am well pleased; listen to him.”

But we ought always to give thanks to God for you, brothers beloved by the Lord, because God chose you as the firstfruits to be saved, through sanctification by the Spirit and belief in the truth.

Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and eat with him, and he with me.

and in order that the Gentiles might glorify God for his mercy. As it is written,“ Therefore I will praise you among the Gentiles, and sing to your name.”And again it is said,“ Rejoice, O Gentiles, with his people.”And again,“ Praise the Lord, all you Gentiles, and let all the peoples extol him.”And again Isaiah says,“ The root of Jesse will come, even he who arises to rule the Gentiles; in him will the Gentiles hope.”May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope.

I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep.

The Lord has bared his holy arm before the eyes of all the nations, and all the ends of the earth shall see the salvation of our God.

For those whom he foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, in order that he might be the firstborn among many brothers.And those whom he predestined he also called, and those whom he called he also justified, and those whom he justified he also glorified.

May his name endure forever, his fame continue as long as the sun! May people be blessed in him, all nations call him blessed!Blessed be the Lord, the God of Israel, who alone does wondrous things.Blessed be his glorious name forever; may the whole earth be filled with his glory! Amen and Amen!

I will say to the north, Give up, and to the south, Do not withhold; bring my sons from afar and my daughters from the end of the earth,

And many nations shall join themselves to the Lord in that day, and shall be my people. And I will dwell in your midst, and you shall know that the Lord of hosts has sent me to you.

But he who enters by the door is the shepherd of the sheep.

Once you were not a people, but now you are God’s people; once you had not received mercy, but now you have received mercy.

Sing to the Lord a new song, his praise from the end of the earth, you who go down to the sea, and all that fills it, the coastlands and their inhabitants.Let the desert and its cities lift up their voice, the villages that Kedar inhabits; let the habitants of Sela sing for joy, let them shout from the top of the mountains.Let them give glory to the Lord, and declare his praise in the coastlands.

Now may the God of peace who brought again from the dead our Lord Jesus, the great shepherd of the sheep, by the blood of the eternal covenant,

in order to make known the riches of his glory for vessels of mercy, which he has prepared beforehand for glory—even us whom he has called, not from the Jews only but also from the Gentiles?

The afflicted shall eat and be satisfied; those who seek him shall praise the Lord! May your hearts live forever!All the ends of the earth shall remember and turn to the Lord, and all the families of the nations shall worship before you.For kingship belongs to the Lord, and he rules over the nations.All the prosperous of the earth eat and worship; before him shall bow all who go down to the dust, even the one who could not keep himself alive.Posterity shall serve him; it shall be told of the Lord to the coming generation;they shall come and proclaim his righteousness to a people yet unborn, that he has done it.

The scepter shall not depart from Judah, nor the ruler’s staff from between his feet, until tribute comes to him; and to him shall be the obedience of the peoples.

for I am with you, and no one will attack you to harm you, for I have many in this city who are my people.”

Simeon has related how God first visited the Gentiles, to take from them a people for his name.

The words of the wise are like goads, and like nails firmly fixed are the collected sayings; they are given by one Shepherd.

Yet the number of the children of Israel shall be like the sand of the sea, which cannot be measured or numbered. And in the place where it was said to them,“ You are not my people,” it shall be said to them,“ Children of the living God.”

And you were dead in the trespasses and sinsin which you once walked, following the course of this world, following the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that is now at work in the sons of disobedience—among whom we all once lived in the passions of our flesh, carrying out the desires of the body and the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, like the rest of mankind.But God, being rich in mercy, because of the great love with which he loved us,even when we were dead in our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ— by grace you have been saved—

The Lord has made known his salvation; he has revealed his righteousness in the sight of the nations.He has remembered his steadfast love and faithfulness to the house of Israel. All the ends of the earth have seen the salvation of our God.

All the nations you have made shall come and worship before you, O Lord, and shall glorify your name.

And I will make them one nation in the land, on the mountains of Israel. And one king shall be king over them all, and they shall be no longer two nations, and no longer divided into two kingdoms.

For thus it shall be in the midst of the earth among the nations, as when an olive tree is beaten, as at the gleaning when the grape harvest is done.They lift up their voices, they sing for joy; over the majesty of the Lord they shout from the west.Therefore in the east give glory to the Lord; in the coastlands of the sea, give glory to the name of the Lord, the God of Israel.From the ends of the earth we hear songs of praise, of glory to the Righteous One. But I say,“ I waste away, I waste away. Woe is me! For the traitors have betrayed, with betrayal the traitors have betrayed.”

he says:“ It is too light a thing that you should be my servant to raise up the tribes of Jacob and to bring back the preserved of Israel; I will make you as a light for the nations, that my salvation may reach to the end of the earth.”

“ Thus says the Lord of hosts: Peoples shall yet come, even the inhabitants of many cities.The inhabitants of one city shall go to another, saying,‘ Let us go at once to entreat the favor of the Lord and to seek the Lord of hosts; I myself am going.’Many peoples and strong nations shall come to seek the Lord of hosts in Jerusalem and to entreat the favor of the Lord.Thus says the Lord of hosts: In those days ten men from the nations of every tongue shall take hold of the robe of a Jew, saying,‘ Let us go with you, for we have heard that God is with you.’”

In that day the root of Jesse, who shall stand as a signal for the peoples— of him shall the nations inquire, and his resting place shall be glorious.

For we ourselves were once foolish, disobedient, led astray, slaves to various passions and pleasures, passing our days in malice and envy, hated by others and hating one another.But when the goodness and loving kindness of God our Savior appeared,he saved us, not because of works done by us in righteousness, but according to his own mercy, by the washing of regeneration and renewal of the Holy Spirit,

And he said,‘ The God of our fathers appointed you to know his will, to see the Righteous One and to hear a voice from his mouth;

And when the chief Shepherd appears, you will receive the unfading crown of glory.
