The one who is the true light, who gives light to everyone, was coming into the world.

But you aren’t in the dark about these things, dear brothers and sisters, and you won’t be surprised when the day of the Lord comes like a thief.For you are all children of the light and of the day; we don’t belong to darkness and night.So be on your guard, not asleep like the others. Stay alert and be clearheaded.Night is the time when people sleep and drinkers get drunk.

And we know that the Son of God has come, and he has given us understanding so that we can know the true God. And now we live in fellowship with the true God because we live in fellowship with his Son, Jesus Christ. He is the only true God, and he is eternal life.

Look to God’s instructions and teachings! People who contradict his word are completely in the dark.

“ I am the true grapevine, and my Father is the gardener.

There was a lot of grumbling about him among the crowds. Some argued,“ He’s a good man,” but others said,“ He’s nothing but a fraud who deceives the people.”

But when your eye is unhealthy, your whole body is filled with darkness. And if the light you think you have is actually darkness, how deep that darkness is!
