The next day He decided to go to Galilee, and He* found Philip. And Jesus* said to him,“ Follow Me.”

The next day Jesus decided to leave for Galilee. Finding Philip, he said to him,“ Follow me.”

As Jesus went on from there, He saw a man called Matthew sitting in the tax collector’s office; and He* said to him,“ Follow Me!” And he got up and followed Him.

Philip* said to Him,“ Lord, show us the Father, and it is enough for us.”

“ I permitted Myself to be sought by those who did not ask for Me; I permitted Myself to be found by those who did not seek Me. I said,‘ Here am I, here am I,’ To a nation which did not call on My name.

Now as Jesus was walking by the Sea of Galilee, He saw two brothers, Simon, who was called Peter, and his brother Andrew, casting a net into the sea; for they were fishermen.And He* said to them,“ Follow Me, and I will make you fishers of people.”Immediately they left their nets and followed Him.Going on from there He saw two other brothers, James the son of Zebedee, and his brother John, in the boat with their father Zebedee, mending their nets; and He called them.

So Jesus, after raising His eyes and seeing that a large crowd was coming to Him,* said to Philip,“ Where are we to buy bread so that these people may eat?”

these people then came to Philip, who was from Bethsaida of Galilee, and were making a request of him, saying,“ Sir, we wish to see Jesus.”

We love, because He first loved us.

These things took place in Bethany beyond the Jordan, where John was baptizing people.

Philip and Bartholomew; Thomas and Matthew the tax collector; James the son of Alphaeus, and Thaddaeus;

Philip answered Him,“ Two hundred denarii worth of bread is not enough for them, for each to receive just a little!”

For the Son of Man has come to seek and to save that which was lost.”

Not that I have already grasped it all or have already become perfect, but I press on if I may also take hold of that for which I was even taken hold of by Christ Jesus.

Again the next day John was standing with two of his disciples,
