And he brought him to Jesus. Jesus looked at him and said,“ You are Simon son of John. You will be called Cephas”( which, when translated, is Peter).

And he brought Simon to Jesus. Jesus looked at him and said,“ You are Simon, son of John. You will be called Cephas.” Cephas means Peter, or Rock.

He brought him to Jesus. Jesus looked at him and said,“ You are Simon the son of John. You shall be called Cephas”( which means Peter).

Then Andrew brought Simon to meet Jesus. Looking intently at Simon, Jesus said,“ Your name is Simon, son of John— but you will be called Cephas”( which means“ Peter”).

He brought him unto Jesus. Jesus looked upon him, and said, Thou art Simon the son of John: thou shalt be called Cephas( which is by interpretation, Peter).

and he brought Simon to Jesus. When Jesus saw him, He said,“ You are Simon, son of John. You will be called Cephas”( which means“ Rock”).

And he brought him to Jesus. And when Jesus beheld him, he said, Thou art Simon the son of Jona: thou shalt be called Cephas, which is by interpretation, A stone.

Andrew brought Simon to Jesus. Jesus looked at him and said,“ You are Simon, the son of John. You will be called Cephas”( which is translated Peter).

He brought him to Jesus. Jesus looked at him, and said,“ You are Simon the son of Jonah. You shall be called Cephas”( which is by interpretation, Peter).

他們吃了早飯，耶穌問西門．彼得：“約翰的兒子西門，你愛我比這些更深嗎？”他回答：“主啊，是的，你知道我愛你。”耶穌說：“你餵養我的小羊。”耶穌第二次又問他：“約翰的兒子西門，你愛我嗎？”他回答：“主啊，是的，你知道我愛你。”耶穌說：“你牧養我的羊。”耶穌第三次問他：“約翰的兒子西門，你愛我嗎？”彼得因為耶穌第三次問他：“你愛我嗎？”就憂愁起來，對耶穌說：“主啊，你是無所不知的，你知道我愛你。”耶穌說：“你餵養我的羊。

無論是保羅，是亞波羅，是磯法，是世界，是生，是死，是現在的事，是將來的事，都是你們的。

我的意思就是，你們各人說，我是保羅派的，我是亞波羅派的，我是磯法派的，我是基督派的。

又知道我蒙了神的恩，那幾位被譽為柱石的雅各、磯法和約翰，就向我和巴拿巴伸出右手互相許諾，我們要到外族人那裡去傳福音，他們要到受割禮的人那裡去傳福音；

耶穌說：“我不是揀選了你們十二個人嗎？但你們中間有一個是魔鬼。”耶穌這話是指著加略人西門的兒子猶大說的，因為他雖然是十二門徒之一，卻要出賣耶穌。

耶穌對他說：“約拿的兒子西門，你是有福的，因為這不是人﹙“人”原文作“肉和血”。﹚指示你的，而是我在天上的父啟示你的。我告訴你，你是彼得，我要在這磐石上建立我的教會，死亡的權勢﹙“死亡的權勢”原文作“陰間的門”。﹚不能勝過他。

西門．彼得看見這種情景，就俯伏在耶穌膝前，說：“主啊，離開我，因為我是個罪人。”

耶穌卻不信任他們，因為他知道所有的人，也不需要誰指證人是怎樣的，因為他知道人心裡存的是甚麼。

十二使徒的名字如下：為首的是西門（又名彼得），西門的弟弟安得烈，西庇太的兒子雅各，雅各的弟弟約翰，

難道我們沒有權利，像其餘的使徒、主的弟兄和磯法一樣，帶著信主的妻子往來嗎？

並且曾經向磯法顯現，然後向十二使徒顯現。

他選立的十二個人是：西門（耶穌給他起名叫彼得），

當時西門．彼得、稱為“雙生子”的多馬、加利利的迦拿人拿但業、西庇太的兩個兒子，和另外兩個門徒都聚在一起。

耶穌看見拿但業向他走過來，就論到他說：“看哪，這的確是個以色列人，他心裡沒有詭詐。”拿但業問他：“你怎麼認識我呢？”耶穌回答：“腓力還沒有招呼你，你在無花果樹下的時候，我就看見你了。”

我這話不是指著你們全體說的；我認識我所揀選的人，但是經上的話：‘那吃我飯的，用他的腳踢我’，必須應驗。
