我從前也不認識他；但那差我用水施洗的對我說：「你看見靈降下、停在誰上頭，誰就是那用聖靈施洗的。」

我先前不认识他，只是那差我来用水施洗的、对我说：‘你看见圣灵降下来，住在谁的身上，谁就是用圣灵施洗的。’

我素不識之、惟遣我以水施洗者、曾告我曰、爾見聖神降而止其上、即以聖神施洗者、

予雖未之素識、惟遣予授洗者曾誥予曰：「汝見聖神降臨、止於其身者、是即將以聖神授洗者也。」

And I myself did not know him, but the one who sent me to baptize with water told me,‘ The man on whom you see the Spirit come down and remain is the one who will baptize with the Holy Spirit.’

I myself did not know him. But the one who sent me to baptize with water told me,‘ You will see the Spirit come down and remain on someone. He is the one who will baptize with the Holy Spirit.’

I myself did not know him, but he who sent me to baptize with water said to me,‘ He on whom you see the Spirit descend and remain, this is he who baptizes with the Holy Spirit.’

I didn’t know he was the one, but when God sent me to baptize with water, he told me,‘ The one on whom you see the Spirit descend and rest is the one who will baptize with the Holy Spirit.’

I didn’t know him, but he who sent me to baptize with water told me,‘ The one you see the Spirit descending and resting on— he is the one who baptizes with the Holy Spirit.’

And I did not recognize Him, but He who sent me to baptize in water said to me,‘ He upon whom you see the Spirit descending and remaining upon Him, this is the One who baptizes in the Holy Spirit.’

I did not know Him, but He who sent me to baptize with water said to me,‘ Upon whom you see the Spirit descending, and remaining on Him, this is He who baptizes with the Holy Spirit.’

And I knew him not: but he that sent me to baptize in water, he said unto me, Upon whomsoever thou shalt see the Spirit descending, and abiding upon him, the same is he that baptizeth in the Holy Spirit.

And I knew him not: but he that sent me to baptize with water, the same said unto me, Upon whom thou shalt see the Spirit descending, and remaining on him, the same is he which baptizeth with the Holy Ghost.

因為約翰是用水施洗，而你們過了這不多幾日、卻要在聖靈裏受洗了。』

我是用水給你們洗，叫你們悔改的；但在我以後來的那一位呢、比我有力量，他的鞋我不配提的，他必用聖靈與火給你們洗。

約翰就應時對眾人說：『我是用水給你們洗的，但那比我有力量的要來，他的鞋帶、我不配解的，他、必用聖靈與火給你們洗。

他救了我們，不是由於我們所行的有甚麼本於義的行為，乃是按照他的憐憫，藉着再生之洗和聖靈之更新力。聖靈是上帝藉着耶穌基督、我們的救主、豐豐富富傾注於我們身上的；

我正開始講的時候，聖靈便降在他們身上，正像當初降在我們身上一樣。我就想起主的話，他怎樣說：「約翰施洗是用水的，但你們呢、卻要在聖靈裏受洗。」

我們眾人、或猶太人、或希利尼人、或為奴的、或自主的、都在這獨一的靈受洗、歸於獨一的身體；也都得恩賜來吸飲這獨一的靈。

耶穌回答說：『我實實在在地告訴你，人若不是由水與靈生的，就不能進上帝的國。

就問他們說：『你們信的時候、受了聖靈沒有？』他們對他說：『沒有，我們甚至還沒聽見過有聖靈賜下來呢！』保羅說：『那麼你們受了洗歸於甚麼呢？』他們說：『歸受了約翰的洗禮。』保羅說：『約翰是用悔改的洗禮施洗的；他告訴人要信那在他以後來的，就是要信耶穌。』他們聽了，就受洗禮歸於主耶穌的名；保羅給他們按手，聖靈便臨到他們；他們就捲舌頭說話，並傳講神言。

上帝所差遣的那一位講上帝的話語；因為上帝賜聖靈、總無限量。

他宣傳說：『在我以後來的有一位比我有力量；他的鞋帶，我彎着腰去解也不配。我是用水給你們洗的，他、卻要用聖靈給你們洗。』

彼得還講這些話的時候，聖靈就降在所有聽道的人身上。那些奉割禮、和彼得一同來的信徒，因聖靈這白白的恩賜居然也傾注於外國人身上，就驚奇。因為他們聽見這些人捲舌頭說話，尊崇上帝為大。於是彼得應時說：『這些人既受了聖靈跟我們一樣，誰能攔阻他們不受水的洗禮呢？』

我從前也不認識他；但是為要使他向以色列顯明出來；故此我來用水施洗。』

當下耶穌從加利利到了約但河，去見約翰，要受他的洗。約翰想法子要攔住他，就說：『我需要受你的洗，你倒來找我麼？』耶穌回答他說：『你且容許着吧；因為我們這樣行盡全禮是理所當然的。』於是約翰許了他。

於是眾人都充滿了聖靈、說起話來，照聖靈給他們去發表的。
