我本来不认识他，但那差我来用水施洗的对我说：‘你看见圣灵降下来，停留在谁身上，谁就是用圣灵施洗的。’

予雖未之素識、惟遣予授洗者曾誥予曰：「汝見聖神降臨、止於其身者、是即將以聖神授洗者也。」

And I myself did not know him, but the one who sent me to baptize with water told me,‘ The man on whom you see the Spirit come down and remain is the one who will baptize with the Holy Spirit.’

I didn’t know he was the one, but when God sent me to baptize with water, he told me,‘ The one on whom you see the Spirit descend and rest is the one who will baptize with the Holy Spirit.’

And I did not recognize Him, but He who sent me to baptize in water said to me,‘ He upon whom you see the Spirit descending and remaining upon Him, this is the One who baptizes in the Holy Spirit.’

约翰是用水施洗，但再过几天，你们要受圣灵的洗。”

我用水给你们施洗，表示你们悔改；但在我以后要来的那一位，能力比我更大，我就是替他提鞋也没有资格。他要用圣灵与火给你们施洗。

约翰对众人说：“我用水给你们施洗，但那能力比我更大的要来，我就是给他解鞋带都没有资格。他要用圣灵与火给你们施洗。

他就救了我们，并不是由于我们所行的义，而是照着他的怜悯，藉着重生的洗和圣灵的更新。圣灵就是神藉着我们的救主耶稣基督丰丰富富浇灌在我们身上的，

我一开始讲话，圣灵就降在他们身上，正像当初降在我们身上一样。我就想起主所说的话：‘约翰用水施洗，但你们要受圣灵的洗。’

我们无论是犹太人，是希腊人，是作奴隶的，是自由的，都在那一位圣灵里受了洗，成为一个身体，都饮了那一位圣灵。

耶稣回答：“我实实在在告诉你，人若不是从水和圣灵生的，就不能进神的国。

问他们说：“你们信的时候，受了圣灵没有？”他们说：“没有，连圣灵赐下来这件事，我们也没有听过。”保罗问：“那么你们受的是什么洗呢？”他们说：“是约翰的洗礼。”保罗说：“约翰施的是悔改的洗礼，他告诉人民当信在他以后要来的那一位，就是耶稣。”他们听见了，就受洗归入主耶稣的名下。保罗为他们按手，圣灵就降在他们身上，他们就用各种的语言讲话，并且说预言。

神所差来的那一位讲神的话，因为神把圣灵无限地赐给他。

他传讲说：“有一位在我以后来的，能力比我大，我就是弯腰给他解鞋带都没有资格。我用水给你们施洗，他却要用圣灵给你们施洗。”

彼得还在说话的时候，圣灵降在所有听道的人身上，那些受了割礼、跟彼得一同来的信徒，因为圣灵的恩赐（“恩赐”或译：“恩赏”）也浇灌在外族人的身上，都很惊讶；原来听见他们讲方言，尊神为大。于是彼得说：“这些人既然领受了圣灵，跟我们一样，谁能禁止他们受水的洗礼呢？”

我本来不认识他，但为了要把他显明给以色列人，因此我来用水施洗。”

那时，耶稣从加利利来到约旦河约翰那里，要受他的洗。约翰想要阻止他，说：“我应该受你的洗，你却到我这里来吗？”耶稣回答：“暂且这样作吧。我们理当这样履行全部的义。”于是约翰答应了他。

他们都被圣灵充满，就照着圣灵所赐给他们的口才，用别种语言说出话来。
