他们就问他说：“你既不是基督，不是以利亚，也不是那先知，为什么施洗呢？”

他们问约翰：“你既然不是基督，不是以利亚，也不是那位先知，那么你为什么施洗呢？”

他们又问约翰：“你既不是基督，又不是以利亚，也不是那位先知，那么，你为什么施洗呢？”

他們就問他說：「你既不是基督，不是以利亞，也不是那先知，為甚麼施洗呢？」

他們就問他：「你既不是基督，不是以利亞，也不是那位先知，那麼，你為甚麼施洗呢？」

他們就問他：「你既不是基督，不是以利亞，也不是那位先知，那麼，你為甚麼施洗呢？」

他們問約翰：“你既然不是基督，不是以利亞，也不是那位先知，那麼你為甚麼施洗呢？”

他們詰問約翰說：『你既不是上帝所膏立者基督，又不是以利亞，也不是那位神言人，那你為甚麼施洗呢？』

他們又問約翰：「你既不是基督，又不是以利亞，也不是那位先知，那麼，你為什麼施洗呢？」

復問之曰、爾非基督、非以利亞、非彼先知、胡為施洗耶、

又問曰、爾非基督非以利亞、非先知、何為施洗耶、

又問曰、爾非基督、非以利亞、非彼先知、何為施洗乎、

爰又問曰：『爾既非基督、又非伊理藹、亦非先知、則胡為授洗耶？』

questioned him,“ Why then do you baptize if you are not the Messiah, nor Elijah, nor the Prophet?”

asked him,“ If you are not the Messiah, why are you baptizing people? Why are you doing that if you aren’t Elijah or the Prophet we’ve been expecting?”

They asked him,“ Then why are you baptizing, if you are neither the Christ, nor Elijah, nor the Prophet?”

asked him,“ If you aren’t the Messiah or Elijah or the Prophet, what right do you have to baptize?”

So they asked him,“ Why then do you baptize if you aren’t the Messiah, or Elijah, or the Prophet?”

They asked him, and said to him,“ Why then are you baptizing, if you are not the Christ, nor Elijah, nor the Prophet?”

And they asked him, saying,“ Why then do you baptize if you are not the Christ, nor Elijah, nor the Prophet?”

And they asked him, and said unto him, Why then baptizest thou, if thou art not the Christ, neither Elijah, neither the prophet?

So they asked him,“ Why then do you baptize if you aren’t the Messiah, or Elijah, or the Prophet?”

And they asked him, and said unto him, Why baptizest thou then, if thou be not that Christ, nor Elias, neither that prophet?

So they asked John,“ Why then are you baptizing if you are not the Christ, nor Elijah, nor the Prophet?”

They asked him,“ Why then do you baptize, if you are not the Christ, nor Elijah, nor the prophet?”

我要在他們當中選立一位像你一樣的先知，我會告訴他該說的話，他要把我的一切吩咐告訴他們。

你們的上帝耶和華要在你們中間選立一位像我一樣的先知，你們要聽從他。

約翰毫不隱瞞地說：「我不是基督。」他們問：「那麼，你是誰？是以利亞嗎？」他說：「不是。」他們又問：「你是那位先知嗎？」他說：「也不是。」他們又追問：「你到底是誰？我們好回覆差我們來的人。你自己說你是誰？」

耶穌進了聖殿，正在教導人的時候，祭司長和民間的長老來質問祂：「你憑什麼權柄做這些事？誰授權給你了？」

「已經為你的同胞和聖城定了七十個七，以終結叛逆，除掉罪惡，贖盡過犯，帶來永遠的公義，封住異象和預言，膏抹至聖所。你要知道，也要明白，從重建耶路撒冷的命令發出，到受膏的君王來臨，其間有七個七加六十二個七。耶路撒冷城及其廣場和壕溝必得重建，且是在艱難時期。六十二個七之後，受膏者必被殺害，一無所有。另有一王要興起，他的臣民要毀滅這城和聖所。結局必如洪水沖來，戰爭將持續到末了，到處一片荒涼——這已經註定。

「我們不是嚴禁你們奉耶穌的名去教導百姓嗎？你們竟然在耶路撒冷各處傳道，還想把殺那人的血債歸到我們身上！」

第二天，官長、長老和律法教師都聚集在耶路撒冷，大祭司亞那，以及該亞法、約翰、亞歷山大和大祭司的許多親族都在場。他們令使徒站在當中，質問道：「你們憑什麼權柄、以誰的名義這樣做？」
