Jesus* said to him,“ I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father except through Me.

Now we know that whatever the Law says, it speaks to those who are under the Law, so that every mouth may be closed and all the world may become accountable to God;because by the works of the Law none of mankind will be justified in His sight; for through the Law comes knowledge of sin.But now apart from the Law the righteousness of God has been revealed, being witnessed by the Law and the Prophets,but it is the righteousness of God through faith in Jesus Christ for all those who believe; for there is no distinction,for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,being justified as a gift by His grace through the redemption which is in Christ Jesus,whom God displayed publicly as a propitiation in His blood through faith. This was to demonstrate His righteousness, because in God’s merciful restraint He let the sins previously committed go unpunished;for the demonstration, that is, of His righteousness at the present time, so that He would be just and the justifier of the one who has faith in Jesus.

And almost all things are cleansed with blood, according to the Law, and without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness.

The Law came in so that the offense would increase; but where sin increased, grace abounded all the more,so that, as sin reigned in death, so also grace would reign through righteousness to eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

and you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.”

But if the ministry of death, engraved in letters on stones, came with glory so that the sons of Israel could not look intently at the face of Moses because of the glory of his face, fading as it was,how will the ministry of the Spirit fail to be even more with glory?For if the ministry of condemnation has glory, much more does the ministry of righteousness excel in glory.For indeed what had glory in this case has no glory, because of the glory that surpasses it.

And the Word became flesh, and dwelt among us; and we saw His glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth.

“ Did Moses not give you the Law, and yet none of you carries out the Law? Why are you seeking to kill Me?”

When they had set a day for Paul, people came to him at his lodging in large numbers; and he was explaining to them by solemnly testifying about the kingdom of God and trying to persuade them concerning Jesus, from both the Law of Moses and from the Prophets, from morning until evening.

For all who are of works of the Law are under a curse; for it is written:“ Cursed is everyone who does not abide by all the things written in the book of the Law, to do them.”Now, that no one is justified by the Law before God is evident; for,“ the righteous one will live by faith.”However, the Law is not of faith; on the contrary,“ The person who performs them will live by them.”Christ redeemed us from the curse of the Law, having become a curse for us— for it is written:“ Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree”—

And in your seed all the nations of the earth shall be blessed, because you have obeyed My voice.”

Now Moses was faithful in all God’s house as a servant, for a testimony of those things which were to be spoken later;but Christ was faithful as a Son over His house— whose house we are, if we hold firmly to our confidence and the boast of our hope.

For in finding fault with the people, He says,“ Behold, days are coming, says the Lord, When I will bring about a new covenant With the house of Israel and the house of Judah,Not like the covenant which I made with their fathers On the day I took them by the hand To bring them out of the land of Egypt; For they did not continue in My covenant, And I did not care about them, says the Lord.For this is the covenant which I will make with the house of Israel After those days, declares the Lord: I will put My laws into their minds, And write them on their hearts. And I will be their God, And they shall be My people.And they will not teach, each one his fellow citizen, And each one his brother, saying,‘ Know the Lord,’ For they will all know Me, From the least to the greatest of them.For I will be merciful toward their wrongdoings, And their sins I will no longer remember.”

For it is impossible for the blood of bulls and goats to take away sins.Therefore, when He comes into the world, He says,“ You have not desired sacrifice and offering, But You have prepared a body for Me;You have not taken pleasure in whole burnt offerings and offerings for sin.Then I said,‘ Behold, I have come( It is written of Me in the scroll of the book) To do Your will, O God.’ ”After saying above,“ Sacrifices and offerings and whole burnt offerings and offerings for sin You have not desired, nor have You taken pleasure in them”( which are offered according to the Law),then He said,“ Behold, I have come to do Your will.” He takes away the first in order to establish the second.By this will, we have been sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all time.

Do not think that I will accuse you before the Father; the one who accuses you is Moses, in whom you have put your hope.

When He had taken the scroll, the four living creatures and the twenty four elders fell down before the Lamb, each one holding a harp and golden bowls full of incense, which are the prayers of the saints.And they* sang a new song, saying,“ Worthy are You to take the scroll and to break its seals; for You were slaughtered, and You purchased people for God with Your blood from every tribe, language, people, and nation.You have made them into a kingdom and priests to our God, and they will reign upon the earth.”

What I am saying is this: the Law, which came 430 years later, does not invalidate a covenant previously ratified by God, so as to nullify the promise.

Now Moses summoned all Israel and said to them:“ Listen, Israel, to the statutes and ordinances which I am speaking today for you to hear, so that you may learn them and be careful to do them.

“ Blessed be the Lord God of Israel, For He has visited us and accomplished redemption for His people,And has raised up a horn of salvation for us In the house of His servant David—Just as He spoke by the mouth of His holy prophets from ancient times—Salvation from our enemies, And from the hand of all who hate us;To show mercy to our fathers, And to remember His holy covenant,The oath which He swore to our father Abraham,To grant us that we, being rescued from the hand of our enemies, Would serve Him without fear,In holiness and righteousness before Him all our days.And you, child, also will be called the prophet of the Most High; For you will go on before the Lord to prepare His ways;To give His people the knowledge of salvation By the forgiveness of their sins,Because of the tender mercy of our God, With which the Sunrise from on high will visit us,To shine on those who sit in darkness and the shadow of death, To guide our feet into the way of peace.”

For I say that Christ has become a servant to the circumcision in behalf of the truth of God, to confirm the promises given to the fathers,and for the Gentiles to glorify God for His mercy; as it is written:“ Therefore I will give praise to You among the Gentiles, And I will sing praises to Your name.”Again he says,“ Rejoice, you Gentiles, with His people.”And again,“ Praise the Lord all you Gentiles, And let all the peoples praise Him.”Again Isaiah says,“ There shall come the root of Jesse, And He who arises to rule over the Gentiles, In Him will the Gentiles hope.”

This is the one who was in the assembly in the wilderness together with the angel who spoke to him at length on Mount Sinai, and who was with our fathers; and he received living words to pass on to you.

After these things I looked, and behold, a great multitude which no one could count, from every nation and all the tribes, peoples, and languages, standing before the throne and before the Lamb, clothed in white robes, and palm branches were in their hands;and they* cried out with a loud voice, saying,“ Salvation belongs to our God who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb.”And all the angels were standing around the throne and around the elders and the four living creatures; and they fell on their faces before the throne and worshiped God,saying,“ Amen, blessing, glory, wisdom, thanksgiving, honor, power, and might belong to our God forever and ever. Amen.”Then one of the elders responded, saying to me,“ These who are clothed in the white robes, who are they, and where have they come from?”I said to him,“ My lord, you know.” And he said to me,“ These are the ones who come out of the great tribulation, and they have washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb.For this reason they are before the throne of God, and they serve Him day and night in His temple; and He who sits on the throne will spread His tabernacle over them.They will no longer hunger nor thirst, nor will the sun beat down on them, nor any scorching heat;for the Lamb in the center of the throne will be their shepherd, and will guide them to springs of the water of life; and God will wipe every tear from their eyes.”

He has given help to His servant Israel, In remembrance of His mercy,Just as He spoke to our fathers, To Abraham and his descendants forever.”

We know that God has spoken to Moses, but as for this man, we do not know where He is from.”

And I will make enemies Of you and the woman, And of your offspring and her Descendant; He shall bruise you on the head, And you shall bruise Him on the heel.”

For as many as the promises of God are, in Him they are yes; therefore through Him also is our Amen to the glory of God through us.

He has remembered His graciousness and His faithfulness to the house of Israel; All the ends of the earth have seen the salvation of our God.

I will sing of the graciousness of the Lord forever; To all generations I will make Your faithfulness known with my mouth.For I have said,“ Graciousness will be built up forever; In the heavens You will establish Your faithfulness.”

You will give truth to Jacob And favor to Abraham, Which You swore to our forefathers From the days of old.

And all these, having gained approval through their faith, did not receive what was promised,because God had provided something better for us, so that apart from us they would not be made perfect.

As for the fact that He raised Him from the dead, never again to return to decay, He has spoken in this way:‘ I will give you the holy and faithful mercies of David.’Therefore, He also says in another Psalm:‘ You will not allow Your Holy One to undergo decay.’For David, after he had served God’s purpose in his own generation, fell asleep, and was buried among his fathers and underwent decay;but He whom God raised did not undergo decay.Therefore let it be known to you, brothers, that through Him forgiveness of sins is proclaimed to you,and through Him everyone who believes is freed from all things, from which you could not be freed through the Law of Moses.

Graciousness and truth have met together; Righteousness and peace have kissed each other.

Moses issued to us the Law, A possession for the assembly of Jacob.

Then God spoke all these words, saying,“ I am the Lord your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of slavery.“ You shall have no other gods before Me.“ You shall not make for yourself an idol, or any likeness of what is in heaven above or on the earth beneath, or in the water under the earth.You shall not worship them nor serve them; for I, the Lord your God, am a jealous God, inflicting the punishment of the fathers on the children, on the third and the fourth generations of those who hate Me,but showing favor to thousands, to those who love Me and keep My commandments.“ You shall not take the name of the Lord your God in vain, for the Lord will not leave him unpunished who takes His name in vain.“ Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy.For six days you shall labor and do all your work,but the seventh day is a Sabbath of the Lord your God; on it you shall not do any work, you, or your son, or your daughter, your male slave or your female slave, or your cattle, or your resident who stays with you.For in six days the Lord made the heavens and the earth, the sea and everything that is in them, and He rested on the seventh day; for that reason the Lord blessed the Sabbath day and made it holy.“ Honor your father and your mother, so that your days may be prolonged on the land which the Lord your God gives you.“ You shall not murder.“ You shall not commit adultery.“ You shall not steal.“ You shall not give false testimony against your neighbor.“ You shall not covet your neighbor’s house; you shall not covet your neighbor’s wife, or his male slave, or his female slave, or his ox, or his donkey, or anything that belongs to your neighbor.”

Now this is the Law which Moses set before the sons of Israel;
