The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth.

who though he existed in the form of God did not regard equality with God as something to be grasped,but emptied himself by taking on the form of a slave, by looking like other men, and by sharing in human nature.He humbled himself, by becoming obedient to the point of death– even death on a cross!

The king says,“ I will announce the LORD’S decree. He said to me:‘ You are my son! This very day I have become your father!

For God was pleased to have all his fullness dwell in the Son

For this reason the sovereign master himself will give you a confirming sign. Look, this young woman is about to conceive and will give birth to a son. You, young woman, will name him Immanuel.

By this you know the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesses Jesus as the Christ who has come in the flesh is from God,but every spirit that does not confess Jesus is not from God, and this is the spirit of the antichrist, which you have heard is coming, and now is already in the world.

So as you come to him, a living stone rejected by men but chosen and priceless in God’s sight,you yourselves, as living stones, are built up as a spiritual house to be a holy priesthood and to offer spiritual sacrifices that are acceptable to God through Jesus Christ.For it says in scripture,“ Look, I lay in Zion a stone, a chosen and priceless cornerstone, and whoever believes in him will never be put to shame.”So you who believe see his value, but for those who do not believe, the stone that the builders rejected has become the cornerstone,

He sprouted up like a twig before God, like a root out of parched soil; he had no stately form or majesty that might catch our attention, no special appearance that we should want to follow him.

So when he came into the world, he said,“ Sacrifice and offering you did not desire, but a body you prepared for me.

For in him all the fullness of deity lives in bodily form,

and our Lord’s grace was abundant, bringing faith and love in Christ Jesus.This saying is trustworthy and deserves full acceptance:“ Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners”– and I am the worst of them!But here is why I was treated with mercy: so that in me as the worst, Christ Jesus could demonstrate his utmost patience, as an example for those who are going to believe in him for eternal life.

For to which of the angels did God ever say,“ You are my son! Today I have fathered you”? And in another place he says,“ I will be his father and he will be my son.”

So also Christ did not glorify himself in becoming high priest, but the one who glorified him was God, who said to him,“ You are my Son! Today I have fathered you,”

And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying:“ Look! The residence of God is among human beings. He will live among them, and they will be his people, and God himself will be with them.

Jesus responded,“ Didn’t I tell you that if you believe, you would see the glory of God?”

Now Peter and those with him were quite sleepy, but as they became fully awake, they saw his glory and the two men standing with him.

concerning his Son who was a descendant of David with reference to the flesh,who was appointed the Son- of- God- in- power according to the Holy Spirit by the resurrection from the dead, Jesus Christ our Lord.

Today your Savior is born in the city of David. He is Christ the Lord.

“ Arise! Shine! For your light arrives! The splendor of the LORD shines on you!For, look, darkness covers the earth and deep darkness covers the nations, but the LORD shines on you; his splendor appears over you.

For this is the way God loved the world: He gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life.

Six days later Jesus took with him Peter, James, and John the brother of James, and led them privately up a high mountain.And he was transfigured before them. His face shone like the sun, and his clothes became white as light.Then Moses and Elijah also appeared before them, talking with him.So Peter said to Jesus,“ Lord, it is good for us to be here. If you want, I will make three shelters– one for you, one for Moses, and one for Elijah.”While he was still speaking, a bright cloud overshadowed them, and a voice from the cloud said,“ This is my one dear Son, in whom I take great delight. Listen to him!”

“ He has blinded their eyes and hardened their heart, so that they would not see with their eyes and understand with their heart, and turn to me, and I would heal them.”Isaiah said these things because he saw Christ’s glory, and spoke about him.

The one who believes in him is not condemned. The one who does not believe has been condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the one and only Son of God.

But he said to me,“ My grace is enough for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” So then, I will boast most gladly about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may reside in me.

Therefore, since the children share in flesh and blood, he likewise shared in their humanity, so that through death he could destroy the one who holds the power of death( that is, the devil),and set free those who were held in slavery all their lives by their fear of death.For surely his concern is not for angels, but he is concerned for Abraham’s descendants.Therefore he had to be made like his brothers and sisters in every respect, so that he could become a merciful and faithful high priest in things relating to God, to make atonement for the sins of the people.

You are the most handsome of all men! You speak in an impressive and fitting manner! For this reason God grants you continual blessings.

And she gave birth to her firstborn son and wrapped him in strips of cloth and laid him in a manger, because there was no place for them in the inn.

you may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth,and thus to know the love of Christ that surpasses knowledge, so that you may be filled up to all the fullness of God.

among whom the god of this age has blinded the minds of those who do not believe so they would not see the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God.For we do not proclaim ourselves, but Jesus Christ as Lord, and ourselves as your slaves for Jesus’ sake.For God, who said“ Let light shine out of darkness,” is the one who shined in our hearts to give us the light of the glorious knowledge of God in the face of Christ.

For indeed he who makes holy and those being made holy all have the same origin, and so he is not ashamed to call them brothers and sisters,

When he had contemplated this, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream and said,“ Joseph, son of David, do not be afraid to take Mary as your wife, because the child conceived in her is from the Holy Spirit.She will give birth to a son and you will name him Jesus, because he will save his people from their sins.”This all happened so that what was spoken by the Lord through the prophet would be fulfilled:“ Look! The virgin will conceive and bear a son, and they will call him Emmanuel,” which means“ God with us.”

To them belong the patriarchs, and from them, by human descent, came the Christ, who is God over all, blessed forever! Amen.

To me– less than the least of all the saints– this grace was given, to proclaim to the Gentiles the unfathomable riches of Christ

in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.

and Jacob the father of Joseph, the husband of Mary, by whom Jesus was born, who is called Christ.

that this promise God has fulfilled to us, their children, by raising Jesus, as also it is written in the second psalm,‘ You are my Son; today I have fathered you.’
