children born not of natural descent, nor of human decision or a husband’s will, but born of God.

To be a child of God has nothing to do with human parents. Children of God are not born because of human choice or because a husband wants them to be born. They are born because of what God does.

who were born, not of blood nor of the will of the flesh nor of the will of man, but of God.

They are reborn— not with a physical birth resulting from human passion or plan, but a birth that comes from God.

Dear friends, let us love one another, because love is from God, and everyone who loves has been fathered by God and knows God.

because everyone who has been fathered by God conquers the world. This is the conquering power that has conquered the world: our faith.

Jesus replied,“ I tell you the solemn truth, unless a person is born from above, he cannot see the kingdom of God.”

Brothers and sisters, my heart’s desire and prayer to God on behalf of my fellow Israelites is for their salvation.For I can testify that they are zealous for God, but their zeal is not in line with the truth.For ignoring the righteousness that comes from God, and seeking instead to establish their own righteousness, they did not submit to God’s righteousness.

Everyone who believes that Jesus is the Christ has been fathered by God, and everyone who loves the father loves the child fathered by him.

nor are all the children Abraham’s true descendants; rather“ through Isaac will your descendants be counted.”This means it is not the children of the flesh who are the children of God; rather, the children of promise are counted as descendants.For this is what the promise declared:“ About a year from now I will return and Sarah will have a son.”Not only that, but when Rebekah had conceived children by one man, our ancestor Isaac–even before they were born or had done anything good or bad( so that God’s purpose in election would stand, not by works but by his calling)–

“ We are descendants of Abraham,” they replied,“ and have never been anyone’s slaves! How can you say,‘ You will become free’?”Jesus answered them,“ I tell you the solemn truth, everyone who practices sin is a slave of sin.The slave does not remain in the family forever, but the son remains forever.So if the son sets you free, you will be really free.I know that you are Abraham’s descendants. But you want to kill me, because my teaching makes no progress among you.I am telling you the things I have seen while with the Father; as for you, practice the things you have heard from the Father!”They answered him,“ Abraham is our father!” Jesus replied,“ If you are Abraham’s children, you would be doing the deeds of Abraham.But now you are trying to kill me, a man who has told you the truth I heard from God. Abraham did not do this!You people are doing the deeds of your father.” Then they said to Jesus,“ We were not born as a result of immorality! We have only one Father, God himself.”

I am telling the truth in Christ( I am not lying!), for my conscience assures me in the Holy Spirit–I have great sorrow and unceasing anguish in my heart.For I could wish that I myself were accursed– cut off from Christ– for the sake of my people, my fellow countrymen,who are Israelites. To them belong the adoption as sons, the glory, the covenants, the giving of the law, the temple worship, and the promises.To them belong the patriarchs, and from them, by human descent, came the Christ, who is God over all, blessed forever! Amen.

And yearn like newborn infants for pure, spiritual milk, so that by it you may grow up to salvation,

and don’t think you can say to yourselves,‘ We have Abraham as our father.’ For I tell you that God can raise up children for Abraham from these stones!

But the children struggled inside her, and she said,“ If it is going to be like this, I’m not so sure I want to be pregnant!” So she asked the LORD,

Your people willingly follow you when you go into battle. On the holy hills at sunrise the dew of your youth belongs to you.

Isaac began to shake violently and asked,“ Then who else hunted game and brought it to me? I ate all of it just before you arrived, and I blessed him. He will indeed be blessed!”

Isaac loved Esau because he had a taste for fresh game, but Rebekah loved Jacob.

Then prepare for me some tasty food, the kind I love, and bring it to me. Then I will eat it so that I may bless you before I die.”
