Friend deceives friend, and no one speaks the truth. They have taught their tongues to lie; they weary themselves with sinning.

One friend cheats another. No one tells the truth. They have taught their tongues how to lie. They wear themselves out sinning.

Everyone deceives his neighbor, and no one speaks the truth; they have taught their tongue to speak lies; they weary themselves committing iniquity.

就是悖逆、不認識耶和華，轉去不跟從我們的神，說欺壓和叛逆的話，心懷謊言，隨即說出。並且公平轉而退後，公義站在遠處；誠實在街上仆倒，正直也不得進入。誠實少見；離惡的人反成掠物。那時，耶和華看見沒有公平，甚不喜悅。

你因路遠疲倦，卻不說這是枉然；你以為有復興之力，所以不覺疲憊。

這是因為說謊之人的假冒；這等人的良心如同被熱鐵烙慣了一般。

他們磨舌如刀，發出苦毒的言語，好像比準了的箭，

鐵匠把鐵在火炭中燒熱，用鎚打鐵器，用他有力的膀臂錘成；他飢餓而無力，不喝水而發倦。木匠拉線，用筆劃出樣子，用鉋子鉋成形狀，用圓尺劃了模樣，仿照人的體態，做成人形，好住在房屋中。他砍伐香柏樹，又取柞樹和橡樹，在樹林中選定了一棵。他栽種松樹，得雨長養。

這鍋勞碌疲乏，所長的大銹仍未除掉；這銹就是用火也不能除掉。

他們彎起舌頭像弓一樣，為要說謊話。他們在國中增長勢力，不是為行誠實，乃是惡上加惡，並不認識我。這是耶和華說的。

他們各人幫助鄰舍，各人對弟兄說：壯膽吧！木匠勉勵銀匠，用鎚打光的勉勵打砧的，論銲工說，銲得好；又用釘子釘穩，免得偶像動搖。

你口任說惡言；你舌編造詭詐。

這等人若不行惡，不得睡覺；不使人跌倒，睡臥不安；

他們使舌頭尖利如蛇，嘴裏有虺蛇的毒氣。（細拉）

你誇大的話豈能使人不作聲嗎？你戲笑的時候豈沒有人叫你害羞嗎？

所以，你們要棄絕謊言，各人與鄰舍說實話，因為我們是互相為肢體。

試看惡人因奸惡而劬勞，所懷的是毒害，所生的是虛假。

眾民所勞碌得來的被火焚燒，列國由勞乏而得的歸於虛空，不都是出於萬軍之耶和華嗎？

禍哉！那些以虛假之細繩牽罪孽的人！他們又像以套繩拉罪惡，

他們的舌頭是毒箭，說話詭詐；人與鄰舍口說和平話，心卻謀害他。
