Listen, you women, to the words of the Lord; open your ears to what he has to say. Teach your daughters to wail; teach one another how to lament.

妇女们哪，你们当听耶和华的话，领受他口中的言语；又当教导你们的儿女举哀，各人教导邻舍唱哀歌。

維爾諸婦、當聽耶和華言、耳聆其口所出之詞、其訓爾女號咷、各誨爾鄰哀哭、

先知曰、維爾眾女、耶和華之言、宜傾耳以聽焉、當令爾女舉哀、鄰里哭泣。

先知曰、惟爾眾婦、當聽主言、傾耳聽其口之語、當教爾女以舉哀、彼此相誨以謳哀歌、

Now, you women, hear the word of the Lord; open your ears to the words of his mouth. Teach your daughters how to wail; teach one another a lament.

You women, hear the Lord’ s message. Listen to what he’s saying. Teach your daughters how to mourn for the dead. Teach one another a song of sadness.

Hear, O women, the word of the Lord, and let your ear receive the word of his mouth; teach to your daughters a lament, and each to her neighbor a dirge.

Now hear the word of the LORD, you women. Pay attention to the words from his mouth. Teach your daughters a lament and one another a dirge,

Now hear the word of the Lord, you women, And let your ears receive the word of His mouth; Teach your daughters wailing, And have every woman teach her neighbor a song of mourning.

Yet hear the word of the Lord, O women, And let your ear receive the word of His mouth; Teach your daughters wailing, And everyone her neighbor a lamentation.

Yet hear the word of Jehovah, O ye women, and let your ear receive the word of his mouth; and teach your daughters wailing, and every one her neighbor lamentation.

Now hear the word of the Lord, you women. Pay attention to the word of His mouth. Teach your daughters a lament and one another a dirge,

I said,“ So now, you wailing women, hear what the LORD says. Open your ears to the words from his mouth. Teach your daughters this mournful song, and each of you teach your neighbor this lament.

Yet hear Yahweh’s word, you women. Let your ear receive the word of his mouth. Teach your daughters wailing, and everyone teach her neighbor a lamentation.

Listen to his instructions, and store them in your heart.

A large crowd trailed behind, including many grief stricken women.But Jesus turned and said to them,“ Daughters of Jerusalem, don’t weep for me, but weep for yourselves and for your children.For the days are coming when they will say,‘ Fortunate indeed are the women who are childless, the wombs that have not borne a child and the breasts that have never nursed.’People will beg the mountains,‘ Fall on us,’ and plead with the hills,‘ Bury us.’

Listen, you women who lie around in ease. Listen to me, you who are so smug.In a short time— just a little more than a year— you careless ones will suddenly begin to care. For your fruit crops will fail, and the harvest will never take place.Tremble, you women of ease; throw off your complacency. Strip off your pretty clothes, and put on burlap to show your grief.Beat your breasts in sorrow for your bountiful farms and your fruitful grapevines.For your land will be overgrown with thorns and briers. Your joyful homes and happy towns will be gone.

This is what the Lord of Heaven’s Armies says:“ Consider all this, and call for the mourners. Send for the women who mourn at funerals.Quick! Begin your weeping! Let the tears flow from your eyes.

The Lord says,“ Beautiful Zion is haughty: craning her elegant neck, flirting with her eyes, walking with dainty steps, tinkling her ankle bracelets.

I will make boys their leaders, and toddlers their rulers.
