I said,“ So now, you wailing women, hear what the LORD says. Open your ears to the words from his mouth. Teach your daughters this mournful song, and each of you teach your neighbor this lament.

妇女们哪，你们当听耶和华的话，领受他口中的言语；又当教导你们的儿女举哀，各人教导邻舍唱哀歌。

Now, you women, hear the word of the Lord; open your ears to the words of his mouth. Teach your daughters how to wail; teach one another a lament.

You women, hear the Lord’ s message. Listen to what he’s saying. Teach your daughters how to mourn for the dead. Teach one another a song of sadness.

Hear, O women, the word of the Lord, and let your ear receive the word of his mouth; teach to your daughters a lament, and each to her neighbor a dirge.

Listen, you women, to the words of the Lord; open your ears to what he has to say. Teach your daughters to wail; teach one another how to lament.

Accept instruction from his mouth and store up his words in your heart.

A great number of the people followed him, among them women who were mourning and wailing for him.But Jesus turned to them and said,“ Daughters of Jerusalem, do not weep for me, but weep for yourselves and for your children.For this is certain: The days are coming when they will say,‘ Blessed are the barren, the wombs that never bore children, and the breasts that never nursed!’Then they will begin to say to the mountains,‘ Fall on us!’ and to the hills,‘ Cover us!’

You complacent women, get up and listen to me! You carefree daughters, pay attention to what I say!In a year’s time you carefree ones will shake with fear, for the grape harvest will fail, and the fruit harvest will not arrive.Tremble, you complacent ones! Shake with fear, you carefree ones! Strip off your clothes and expose yourselves– put sackcloth on your waist!Mourn over the field, over the delightful fields and the fruitful vine!Mourn over the land of my people, which is overgrown with thorns and briers, and over all the once- happy houses in the city filled with revelry.

The LORD who rules over all told me to say to this people,“ Take note of what I say. Call for the women who mourn for the dead! Summon those who are the most skilled at it!”I said,“ Indeed, let them come quickly and sing a song of mourning for us. Let them wail loudly until tears stream from our own eyes and our eyelids overflow with water.

The LORD says,“ The women of Zion are proud. They walk with their heads high and flirt with their eyes. They skip along and the jewelry on their ankles jingles.

The LORD says,“ I will make youths their officials; malicious young men will rule over them.
