Oh, that I had in the desert a lodging place for travelers, so that I might leave my people and go away from them; for they are all adulterers, a crowd of unfaithful people.

I wish I had somewhere to go in the desert where a traveler could stay! Then I could leave my people. I could get away from them. All of them commit adultery by worshiping other gods. They aren’t faithful to the Lord.

( 9: 1) I wish I had a lodging place in the desert where I could spend some time like a weary traveler. Then I would desert my people and walk away from them because they are all unfaithful to God, a congregation of people that has been disloyal to him.

For the land is full of adulterers; the land mourns because of the curse, and the grazing lands in the wilderness have dried up. Their way of life has become evil, and their power is not rightly used

Why should I forgive you? Your children have abandoned me and sworn by those who are not gods. I satisfied their needs, yet they committed adultery; they gashed themselves at the prostitute’s house.They are well-fed, eager stallions, each neighing after someone else’s wife.

Cursing, lying, murder, stealing, and adultery are rampant; one act of bloodshed follows another.

All of them commit adultery; they are like an oven heated by a baker who stops stirring the fire from the kneading of the dough until it is leavened.

Even your brothers— your own father’s family— even they were treacherous to you; even they have cried out loudly after you. Do not have confidence in them, though they speak well of you.

My God will hear me.

Her prophets are reckless— treacherous men. Her priests profane the sanctuary; they do violence to instruction.

I said,“ If only I had wings like a dove! I would fly away and find rest.How far away I would flee; I would stay in the wilderness. SelahI would hurry to my shelter from the raging wind and the storm.”

Men within you have sexual intercourse with their father’s wife and violate women during their menstrual impurity.One man within you commits a detestable act with his neighbor’s wife; another defiles his daughter-in-law with depravity; and yet another violates his sister, his father’s daughter.
