只隨從自己心意之頑強，隨從眾巴力，就是他們列祖所教導他們行的。

惟徇己心之剛愎、從諸巴力、即其祖所教者、

乃縱私欲崇事巴力、效祖之尤。

放縱私欲、傚法其祖、崇拜巴力、

他们却掩耳不听，一意孤行，任意行恶，越来越坏。

那时，耶路撒冷会被称为‘耶和华的宝座’，万国都要聚集在耶路撒冷敬拜耶和华，不再执迷不悟地作恶。

我在犹太教里比许多同辈的犹太人更进取，狂热地维护祖先的传统。

他们虽然明知有上帝，却不把祂当作上帝，既不将荣耀归给祂，也不感谢祂。他们的思想因此变得荒谬无用，无知的心也变得昏暗不明。他们自以为聪明，其实愚不可及，以必朽的人、飞禽、走兽和爬虫的形象来取代永恒上帝的荣耀。因此，上帝任凭他们随从内心的情欲行污秽的事，玷污彼此的身体。

要知道，你们从传统的、没有意义的生活中被救赎出来，不是靠金银等会朽坏的东西，

不要像你们的祖先一样。以前的先知曾呼唤他们要听从万军之耶和华的话，改邪归正，停止作恶，他们却置若罔闻，不予理会。这是耶和华说的。现在你们的祖先在哪里呢？那些先知能活到永远吗？

因此，我奉主的名郑重地劝告各位，不要再像不信的外族人一样过着心灵空虚的日子。他们因为愚昧无知，顽固不化，理智受到蒙蔽，与上帝所赐的生命隔绝了。他们丧尽天良，放纵情欲，沉溺于各种污秽的事。

众祭司从来不问‘耶和华在哪里？’执掌律法的不认识我，首领背叛我，先知靠巴力说预言，随从无用的假神。

“你怎能说，‘我没有玷污自己，也没有随从巴力’？看看你在山谷中干的勾当，想想你的所作所为。你是一只发情的母骆驼，烦躁不安，跑来跑去。

我们以前也在他们当中随从罪恶的本性，放纵肉体和心中的私欲，与其他人一样本是惹上帝发怒的人。

耶和华看见人罪恶深重，心中终日思想恶事，

但我们必照所许的愿向天后烧香奠酒，正如我们和我们的祖先、君王和官长在犹大各城和耶路撒冷街上所做的一样。那时，我们食物充足，生活幸福，无灾无祸。
