誰為智者、能明此事、誰蒙主諭、能宣示國緣何而滅亡、地緣何而焚燬、成如沙漠、無人來往、

Who is wise enough to understand this? Who has been instructed by the Lord and can explain it? Why has the land been ruined and laid waste like a desert that no one can cross?

I said,“ Who is wise enough to understand why this has happened? Who has a word from the LORD that can explain it? Why does the land lie in ruins? Why is it as scorched as a desert through which no one travels?”

这殿必成为废墟（按照《马索拉文本》，“成为废墟”应作“甚高”；现参照《叙利亚译本》翻译），经过的人都必惊讶，取笑说：耶和华为什么向这地和这殿这样作啊？人要回答说：是因为他们离弃了那把他们的列祖从埃及地领出来的耶和华他们的神，去亲近别的神，敬拜他们，事奉他们，因此耶和华使这一切灾祸临到他们。’”

“你向这人民传讲这一切时，如果他们问你：‘耶和华为什么宣告这一切严重的灾祸对付我们呢？我们有什么罪孽？我们犯了什么罪，得罪了耶和华我们的神呢？’你就要回答他们：‘因为你们的列祖离弃了我（这是耶和华的宣告），他们随从别的神，事奉敬拜他们；他们离弃了我，不遵守我的律法。至于你们，你们作坏事比你们的列祖更厉害；看哪！你们各人都随从自己顽梗的恶心行事，不听从我。因此，我要把你们从这地赶出去，去到你们和你们列祖所不认识的地；你们在那里必昼夜事奉别的神，因为我不再向你们施恩。’

其中的先知叛逆，像吼叫的狮子撕碎猎物；他们把人吞吃，抢夺财物和珍宝，使其中寡妇的数目增多。这地的祭司违反我的律法，亵渎我的圣物；他们不分别圣俗，也不教导人分辨什么是洁净的和不洁净的，又掩目不理我的安息日，以致我在他们中间被亵渎。其中的官长好像撕碎猎物的豺狼，流人的血，灭人的命，为要得不义之财。这地的先知用灰泥给他们粉刷墙壁，为他们见虚假的异象，行骗人的占卜，说：‘主耶和华这样说’，其实当时耶和华并没有说话。这地的人民常常欺压人，惯行抢掠，亏待困苦穷乏的人，毫无公理地去欺压寄居的人。我在他们中间寻找一人重修墙垣，在我面前为这地站在破口之处，使我不毁灭这地，我却找不到一个。所以我把我的忿怒倒在他们身上，用我烈怒之火消灭他们，把他们所行的报应在他们的头上。这是主耶和华的宣告。”

“将来如果有人问：‘耶和华我们的神，为什么向我们行这一切事呢？’你就要对他们说：‘你们怎样离弃我，在你们的土地上事奉外族人的神，你们也要在不属你们的土地上照样服事外族人。’”你们要在雅各家宣告这事，在犹大传扬，说：

多国的人必经过这城，彼此发问：‘耶和华为什么这样对待这大城呢？’必有人说：‘是因为他们离弃了耶和华他们神的约，并且敬拜事奉别神。’”

“后代的人，就是你们以后兴起来的子孙，和从远方来的外族人，看见了这地的灾难和耶和华降与这地的疾病，又看见了遍地有硫磺，有盐卤，有火烧，没有播种，没有出产，寸草不生，好像耶和华在烈怒和怒火中毁灭的所多玛、蛾摩拉、押玛、洗扁一样，看见了这些的人和万国的人都要问：‘耶和华为什么向这地这样行呢？为什么大发烈怒呢？’人就必回答：‘是因为他们离弃了耶和华他们列祖的神的约，就是耶和华把他们从埃及地领出来的时候，与他们所立的；去事奉别的神，向他们叩拜，就是他们不认识的神，也是耶和华没有给他们指定要拜的神；所以耶和华向这地大发烈怒，把这书上所写的一切咒诅都降在这地上；于是耶和华在烈怒、忿怒和大怒中，把他们从他们的地土拔出来，丢在别的地方，像今天一样。’

读这书上预言的人，和那些听见这预言并且遵守书中记载的人，都是有福的！因为时候近了。

如果你们有智慧，就可以明白这事，认清自己将来的结局了。

你们看见了他们的所行所为，就必得安慰，因为你们知道我在耶路撒冷所行的一切，并不是无缘无故的。这是耶和华的宣告。”
