孰為智者、克明斯事、耶和華與誰言、使之宣告、斯土何為被燬遭焚、有若曠野、無人經之、

遍地蕭條、恍若沙漠、人蹤罕至、焉得哲人、蒙予啟示、而言其故。

誰為智者、能明此事、誰蒙主諭、能宣示國緣何而滅亡、地緣何而焚燬、成如沙漠、無人來往、

Who is wise enough to understand this? Who has been instructed by the Lord and can explain it? Why has the land been ruined and laid waste like a desert that no one can cross?

Who is wise enough to understand these things? Who has been taught by the Lord? Who can explain them? Why has the land been destroyed so completely? Why has it become like a desert that no one can go across?

Who is the man so wise that he can understand this? To whom has the mouth of the Lord spoken, that he may declare it? Why is the land ruined and laid waste like a wilderness, so that no one passes through?

Who is wise enough to understand all this? Who has been instructed by the Lord and can explain it to others? Why has the land been so ruined that no one dares to travel through it?

Who is the person wise enough to understand this? Who has the LORD spoken to, that he may explain it? Why is the land destroyed and scorched like a wilderness, so no one can pass through?

Who is the wise person who may understand this? And who is he to whom the mouth of the Lord has spoken, that he may declare it? Why is the land destroyed, laid waste like the desert, so that no one passes through?

I said,“ Who is wise enough to understand why this has happened? Who has a word from the LORD that can explain it? Why does the land lie in ruins? Why is it as scorched as a desert through which no one travels?”

Who is wise enough to understand this? Who is he to whom the mouth of Yahweh has spoken, that he may declare it? Why has the land perished and burned up like a wilderness, so that no one passes through?

让那些智者明白这一切，让那些明哲了解这一切。因为耶和华的道是正道，义人要行走在上面，罪人却在上面跌倒。

有智慧的人都当留心这些事，思想耶和华的慈爱。

叫沃土变成荒凉的盐碱地，因为那里的居民邪恶。

这殿虽然宏伟，但将来经过的人必惊讶，讥笑说，‘耶和华为什么这样对待这地方和这殿呢？’人们会回答，‘因为他们背弃曾领他们祖先离开埃及的耶和华——他们的上帝，去追随、祭拜、供奉别的神明，所以耶和华把这一切灾祸降在他们身上。’”

“当你把这些话告诉他们的时候，他们会质问你，‘耶和华为什么给我们降这大灾难？我们有什么罪？我们哪里得罪了我们的上帝耶和华？’你要对他们说，‘耶和华说，你们的祖先背弃我，去跟随、供奉、祭拜别的神明；他们背弃我，不遵守我的律法。可是，你们的行为比他们更邪恶，一意孤行，不听从我。所以，我要把你们从这里驱逐到你们和你们祖先都不认识的地方，你们在那里要日夜供奉别的神明，因为我不再恩待你们。’”

你的首领图谋恶事，好像咆哮着撕碎猎物的狮子，他们草菅人命，抢夺财宝，使多人变成寡妇。你的祭司强解我的律法，亵渎我的圣物。他们圣俗不分，也不教导人分辨洁净的和污秽的。他们藐视我的安息日，亵渎我。你的首领好像撕碎猎物的豺狼，杀人流血，谋取不义之财。你的先知对他们说虚假的异象和占卜，像用白灰刷墙一样掩盖他们的罪恶，说，耶和华这样说，其实耶和华没有说。你的居民强取豪夺，欺压贫困的，虐待寄居的，无法无天。我想在他们中间寻找一位重修城墙的人，站在我面前为这地方堵住缺口，免得我毁灭这里。可是，我一个也找不到。因此，我要向他们倾倒我的烈怒，用怒火灭尽他们，照他们的所作所为报应他们。这是主耶和华说的。’”

耶利米啊，如果有人问，‘为什么我们的上帝耶和华这样待我们？’你可以对他们说，‘你们怎样背弃耶和华，在自己的土地上供奉外族的神明，也要怎样在异地他乡服侍外族人。’“要在犹大向雅各家高声宣布，

“各国的人经过这城时都会彼此议论说，‘为什么耶和华这样对待这座大城？’有人会回答，‘因为城里的人背弃了他们的上帝耶和华的约，供奉、祭拜其他神明。’”

“你们的子孙后代和从远方来的外族人，必看见耶和华降在这地方的灾祸和疾病。遍地将是硫磺和盐，无法耕种，寸草不生，如同耶和华盛怒之下毁灭的所多玛、蛾摩拉、押玛和洗扁。万国必问，‘耶和华为什么要这样对待这地方？祂为什么大发烈怒？’必有人回答说，‘因为这地方的人背弃了他们祖先的上帝耶和华领他们出埃及时与他们所立的约，去供奉、祭拜他们所不认识、并非耶和华所分派的神明。因此，耶和华向这片土地发怒，把这书上的一切咒诅都降在这里。耶和华盛怒之下把他们从这地方连根拔起，扔到别的地方，正如今日的情形。’

那位宣读这预言的人和那些听见并遵守其中内容的人有福了，因为日期近了。

如果他们有智慧，就能明白这一切、知道自己的结局。

你们看见他们的所作所为，就知道我不是无缘无故地惩罚耶路撒冷。’这是主耶和华说的。”
