我為山嶽哭泣號咷、為曠野之草場悲哀、因其焚燬、無人經之、不聞牲畜之聲、飛禽走獸、俱已逃亡、

山岡牧原、俱被焚燬、杳無人跡、不聞牲畜之鳴、飛鳥走獸、皆已奔散、我用是殷憂。

先知曰、我為山岡哭泣號咷、為曠野牧原悲哀、緣悉焚燬、無人來往、不聞群畜之鳴、飛鳥走獸、皆已逃亡而散、

I will weep and wail for the mountains and take up a lament concerning the wilderness grasslands. They are desolate and untraveled, and the lowing of cattle is not heard. The birds have all fled and the animals are gone.

I will cry and mourn over the mountains. I will sing a song of sadness about the desert grasslands. They are dry and empty. No one travels through them. The mooing of cattle isn’t heard there. The birds have flown away. All the animals are gone.

“ I will take up weeping and wailing for the mountains, and a lamentation for the pastures of the wilderness, because they are laid waste so that no one passes through, and the lowing of cattle is not heard; both the birds of the air and the beasts have fled and are gone.

I will weep for the mountains and wail for the wilderness pastures. For they are desolate and empty of life; the lowing of cattle is heard no more; the birds and wild animals have all fled.

I will raise weeping and a lament over the mountains, a dirge over the wilderness grazing land, for they have been so scorched that no one passes through. The sound of cattle is no longer heard. From the birds of the sky to the animals, everything has fled— they have gone away.

The sound of livestock is no longer heard there. Even the birds in the sky and the wild animals in the fields have fled and are gone.”

I will weep and wail for the mountains, and lament for the pastures of the wilderness, because they are burned up, so that no one passes through; Men can’t hear the voice of the livestock. Both the birds of the sky and the animals have fled. They are gone.

How long will the land lie parched and the grass in every field be withered? Because those who live in it are wicked, the animals and birds have perished. Moreover, the people are saying,“ He will not see what happens to us.” (niv)

Because of this the land dries up, and all who live in it waste away; the beasts of the field, the birds in the sky and the fish in the sea are swept away. (niv)

“ Or if I send wild beasts through that country and they leave it childless and it becomes desolate so that no one can pass through it because of the beasts, (niv)

“‘ Cut off your hair and throw it away; take up a lament on the barren heights, for the Lord has rejected and abandoned this generation that is under his wrath. (niv)

Many shepherds will ruin my vineyard and trample down my field; they will turn my pleasant field into a desolate wasteland. (niv)

I will make the land a desolate waste, and her proud strength will come to an end, and the mountains of Israel will become desolate so that no one will cross them. (niv)

The foot of neither man nor beast will pass through it; no one will live there for forty years. (niv)

The land is full of adulterers; because of the curse the land lies parched and the pastures in the wilderness are withered. The prophets follow an evil course and use their power unjustly. (niv)

My eyes fail from weeping, I am in torment within; my heart is poured out on the ground because my people are destroyed, because children and infants faint in the streets of the city. (niv)

They did not ask,‘ Where is the Lord, who brought us up out of Egypt and led us through the barren wilderness, through a land of deserts and ravines, a land of drought and utter darkness, a land where no one travels and no one lives?’ (niv)

Oh, my anguish, my anguish! I writhe in pain. Oh, the agony of my heart! My heart pounds within me, I cannot keep silent. For I have heard the sound of the trumpet; I have heard the battle cry.Disaster follows disaster; the whole land lies in ruins. In an instant my tents are destroyed, my shelter in a moment.How long must I see the battle standard and hear the sound of the trumpet?“ My people are fools; they do not know me. They are senseless children; they have no understanding. They are skilled in doing evil; they know not how to do good.”I looked at the earth, and it was formless and empty; and at the heavens, and their light was gone.I looked at the mountains, and they were quaking; all the hills were swaying.I looked, and there were no people; every bird in the sky had flown away.I looked, and the fruitful land was a desert; all its towns lay in ruins before the Lord, before his fierce anger. (niv)

Give glory to the Lord your God before he brings the darkness, before your feet stumble on the darkening hills. You hope for light, but he will turn it to utter darkness and change it to deep gloom.If you do not listen, I will weep in secret because of your pride; my eyes will weep bitterly, overflowing with tears, because the Lord’s flock will be taken captive. (niv)

You who are my Comforter in sorrow, my heart is faint within me. (niv)

Wild donkeys stand on the barren heights and pant like jackals; their eyes fail for lack of food.” (niv)

The fields are ruined, the ground is dried up; the grain is destroyed, the new wine is dried up, the olive oil fails.Despair, you farmers, wail, you vine growers; grieve for the wheat and the barley, because the harvest of the field is destroyed.The vine is dried up and the fig tree is withered; the pomegranate, the palm and the apple tree— all the trees of the field— are dried up. Surely the people’s joy is withered away. (niv)

“ Though you were ruined and made desolate and your land laid waste, now you will be too small for your people, and those who devoured you will be far away. (niv)
