『為了山嶺、你們要哭泣舉哀，為了野地的草場、你們要揚聲唱哀歌；因為都已倒壞，無人經過；牲畜的聲音都聽不到；無論空中的飛鳥、以至地上走獸、全都逃跑了。』

我為山嶽哭泣號咷、為曠野之草場悲哀、因其焚燬、無人經之、不聞牲畜之聲、飛禽走獸、俱已逃亡、

山岡牧原、俱被焚燬、杳無人跡、不聞牲畜之鳴、飛鳥走獸、皆已奔散、我用是殷憂。

先知曰、我為山岡哭泣號咷、為曠野牧原悲哀、緣悉焚燬、無人來往、不聞群畜之鳴、飛鳥走獸、皆已逃亡而散、

I will weep and wail for the mountains and take up a lament concerning the wilderness grasslands. They are desolate and untraveled, and the lowing of cattle is not heard. The birds have all fled and the animals are gone.

I will cry and mourn over the mountains. I will sing a song of sadness about the desert grasslands. They are dry and empty. No one travels through them. The mooing of cattle isn’t heard there. The birds have flown away. All the animals are gone.

“ I will take up weeping and wailing for the mountains, and a lamentation for the pastures of the wilderness, because they are laid waste so that no one passes through, and the lowing of cattle is not heard; both the birds of the air and the beasts have fled and are gone.

I will weep for the mountains and wail for the wilderness pastures. For they are desolate and empty of life; the lowing of cattle is heard no more; the birds and wild animals have all fled.

I said,“ I will weep and mourn for the grasslands on the mountains, I will sing a mournful song for the pastures in the wilderness because they are so scorched no one travels through them. The sound of livestock is no longer heard there. Even the birds in the sky and the wild animals in the fields have fled and are gone.”

How long shall the land mourn, and the herbs of the whole country wither? for the wickedness of them that dwell therein, the beasts are consumed, and the birds; because they said, He shall not see our latter end.

Therefore shall the land mourn, and every one that dwelleth therein shall languish, with the beasts of the field and the birds of the heavens; yea, the fishes of the sea also shall be taken away.

If I cause evil beasts to pass through the land, and they ravage it, and it be made desolate, so that no man may pass through because of the beasts;

Cut off thy hair, O Jerusalem, and cast it away, and take up a lamentation on the bare heights; for Jehovah hath rejected and forsaken the generation of his wrath.

Many shepherds have destroyed my vineyard, they have trodden my portion under foot, they have made my pleasant portion a desolate wilderness.

And I will make the land a desolation and an astonishment; and the pride of her power shall cease; and the mountains of Israel shall be desolate, so that none shall pass through.

No foot of man shall pass through it, nor foot of beast shall pass through it, neither shall it be inhabited forty years.

For the land is full of adulterers; for because of swearing the land mourneth; the pastures of the wilderness are dried up. And their course is evil, and their might is not right;

Mine eyes do fail with tears, my heart is troubled; My liver is poured upon the earth, because of the destruction of the daughter of my people, Because the young children and the sucklings swoon in the streets of the city.

Neither said they, Where is Jehovah that brought us up out of the land of Egypt, that led us through the wilderness, through a land of deserts and of pits, through a land of drought and of the shadow of death, through a land that none passed through, and where no man dwelt?

My anguish, my anguish! I am pained at my very heart; my heart is disquieted in me; I cannot hold my peace; because thou hast heard, O my soul, the sound of the trumpet, the alarm of war.Destruction upon destruction is cried; for the whole land is laid waste: suddenly are my tents destroyed, and my curtains in a moment.How long shall I see the standard, and hear the sound of the trumpet?For my people are foolish, they know me not; they are sottish children, and they have no understanding; they are wise to do evil, but to do good they have no knowledge.I beheld the earth, and, lo, it was waste and void; and the heavens, and they had no light.I beheld the mountains, and, lo, they trembled, and all the hills moved to and fro.I beheld, and, lo, there was no man, and all the birds of the heavens were fled.I beheld, and, lo, the fruitful field was a wilderness, and all the cities thereof were broken down at the presence of Jehovah, and before his fierce anger.

Give glory to Jehovah your God, before he cause darkness, and before your feet stumble upon the dark mountains, and, while ye look for light, he turn it into the shadow of death, and make it gross darkness.But if ye will not hear it, my soul shall weep in secret for your pride; and mine eye shall weep sore, and run down with tears, because Jehovah’s flock is taken captive.

Oh that I could comfort myself against sorrow! my heart is faint within me.

And the wild asses stand on the bare heights, they pant for air like jackals; their eyes fail, because there is no herbage.

The field is laid waste, the land mourneth; for the grain is destroyed, the new wine is dried up, the oil languisheth.Be confounded, O ye husbandmen, wail, O ye vinedressers, for the wheat and for the barley; for the harvest of the field is perished.The vine is withered, and the fig- tree languisheth; the pomegranate- tree, the palm- tree also, and the apple- tree, even all the trees of the field are withered: for joy is withered away from the sons of men.

For, as for thy waste and thy desolate places, and thy land that hath been destroyed, surely now shalt thou be too strait for the inhabitants, and they that swallowed thee up shall be far away.

For these things I weep; mine eye, mine eye runneth down with water; Because the comforter that should refresh my soul is far from me: My children are desolate, because the enemy hath prevailed.
