Why then have these people turned away? Why does Jerusalem always turn away? They cling to deceit; they refuse to return.

Then why have the people of Jerusalem turned away from me? Why do they always turn away? They keep on telling lies. They refuse to come back to me.

Why then has this people turned away in perpetual backsliding? They hold fast to deceit; they refuse to return.

Then why do these people stay on their self destructive path? Why do the people of Jerusalem refuse to turn back? They cling tightly to their lies and will not turn around.

Why have these people turned away? Why is Jerusalem always turning away? They take hold of deceit; they refuse to return.

Why has this people, Jerusalem, Turned away in continual apostasy? They hold on to deceit, They refuse to return.

Why has this people slidden back, Jerusalem, in a perpetual backsliding? They hold fast to deceit, They refuse to return.

Why have these people turned away? Why is Jerusalem always turning away? They take hold of deceit; they refuse to return.

Thy habitation is in the midst of deceit; through deceit they refuse to know me, saith Jehovah.

O Jehovah, do not thine eyes look upon truth? thou hast stricken them, but they were not grieved; thou hast consumed them, but they have refused to receive correction: they have made their faces harder than a rock; they have refused to return.

But they refused to hearken, and pulled away the shoulder, and stopped their ears, that they might not hear.

He feedeth on ashes; a deceived heart hath turned him aside; and he cannot deliver his soul, nor say, Is there not a lie in my right hand?

As a cage is full of birds, so are their houses full of deceit: therefore they are become great, and waxed rich.

even he, whose coming is according to the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders,and with all deceit of unrighteousness for them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved.And for this cause God sendeth them a working of error, that they should believe a lie:that they all might be judged who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.

that say to the seers, See not; and to the prophets, Prophesy not unto us right things, speak unto us smooth things, prophesy deceits,

And my people are bent on backsliding from me: though they call them to him that is on high, none at all will exalt him.

and ye will not come to me, that ye may have life.

See that ye refuse not him that speaketh. For if they escaped not when they refused him that warned them on earth, much more shall not we escape who turn away from him that warneth from heaven:

For Israel hath behaved himself stubbornly, like a stubborn heifer: now will Jehovah feed them as a lamb in a large place.

Nevertheless that which ye have, hold fast till I come.

Can a virgin forget her ornaments, or a bride her attire? yet my people have forgotten me days without number.

but if ye refuse and rebel, ye shall be devoured with the sword; for the mouth of Jehovah hath spoken it.

But they hearkened not, nor inclined their ear, but walked in their own counsels and in the stubbornness of their evil heart, and went backward, and not forward.Since the day that your fathers came forth out of the land of Egypt unto this day, I have sent unto you all my servants the prophets, daily rising up early and sending them:yet they hearkened not unto me, nor inclined their ear, but made their neck stiff: they did worse than their fathers.

Take fast hold of instruction; let her not go: Keep her; for she is thy life.

And Jehovah said unto me, Backsliding Israel hath showed herself more righteous than treacherous Judah.Go, and proclaim these words toward the north, and say, Return, thou backsliding Israel, saith Jehovah; I will not look in anger upon you; for I am merciful, saith Jehovah, I will not keep anger for ever.Only acknowledge thine iniquity, that thou hast transgressed against Jehovah thy God, and hast scattered thy ways to the strangers under every green tree, and ye have not obeyed my voice, saith Jehovah.Return, O backsliding children, saith Jehovah; for I am a husband unto you: and I will take you one of a city, and two of a family, and I will bring you to Zion.
