他們坐下吃飯，舉目觀看，見有一群以實瑪利人從基列來。他們的駱駝載著香料、乳香和沒藥，要帶下埃及去。

埃及的人民哪，上基列去取乳香吧！你雖多用藥物都是無效，你必不得醫治。

“耶和華這樣說：‘你的損傷無法痊愈，你的創傷不能醫治。沒有人為你申訴，你的傷處無藥可救，你不得醫治。你所有的盟友都忘記了你，不再關心你；我擊打了你，好像仇敵擊打你，又好像殘暴的人懲罰你一樣；都因你的罪孽甚多，你的罪惡無數。你為甚麼因你的損傷哀叫呢？你的病痛無法痊愈。我這樣對你，是因你的罪孽甚多，你的罪惡無數。但是，吞吃你的，必被吞吃；你所有的敵人全都要被擄走；搶掠你的，必成為被搶掠之物；掠奪你的，我必使他們成為被掠奪之物。雖然人都說你是被放逐的，是沒有人關心的錫安；我卻必使你康復，醫治你的創傷。’”這是耶和華的宣告。

巴比倫必突然傾覆毀滅，你們要為它哀號！拿乳香來消除它的痛楚，也許可以治好它。

有一個女人，患了十二年的血漏病，在醫生手裡花盡了全部養生的（有些抄本無“在醫生手裡花盡了全部養生的”一句），沒有一個能醫好她。

他們的父親以色列對他們說：“如果必須如此，你們就這樣作：你們把本地最好的出產放在袋裡，帶下去給那人作禮物，就是一點乳香、一點蜂蜜、香料、沒藥、粟子和杏仁。

耶穌回答：“健康的人不需要醫生，有病的人才需要。我來不是要召義人，而是要召罪人悔改。”

法利賽人看見了，就對他的門徒說：“你們的老師為甚麼跟稅吏和罪人一起吃飯呢？”耶穌聽見了，就說：“健康的人不需要醫生，有病的人才需要，

你們為甚麼屢次悖逆，還要受責打嗎？你們整個頭都受了傷，整個心都發昏了。從腳掌到頭頂，沒有一處是完全的；盡是創傷、鞭痕和流血的傷口；沒有擠乾淨傷口，沒有包紮，也沒有用膏油滋潤。
