我們為甚麼靜坐不動呢？聚集攏來哦，我們好進入有堡壘的城，在那裏寂滅掉；因為永恆主我們的上帝命定我們寂滅，將毒苦水給我們喝，因為我們犯罪得罪了永恆主。

我儕靜坐何為乎、其會集而入鞏固之邑、隕亡於彼、我上帝耶和華飲我以毒水、使我隕亡、緣我干犯耶和華也、

先知告民曰、我儕坐此曷故、必會眾入城、在彼默默無語、我獲罪於我之上帝耶和華、使我嘗膽、無詞可述。

Why are we sitting here? Gather together! Let us flee to the fortified cities and perish there! For the Lord our God has doomed us to perish and given us poisoned water to drink, because we have sinned against him.

Why are we sitting here? Let’s gather together! Let’s run to the cities that have high walls around them! Let’s die there! The Lord our God has sentenced us to death. He has given us poisoned water to drink. That’s because we’ve sinned against him.

Why do we sit still? Gather together; let us go into the fortified cities and perish there, for the Lord our God has doomed us to perish and has given us poisoned water to drink, because we have sinned against the Lord.

“ Then the people will say,‘ Why should we wait here to die? Come, let’s go to the fortified towns and die there. For the Lord our God has decreed our destruction and has given us a cup of poison to drink because we sinned against the Lord.

Why are we just sitting here? Gather together; let’s enter the fortified cities and perish there, for the LORD our God has destroyed us. He has given us poisoned water to drink, because we have sinned against the LORD.

The people say,“ Why are we just sitting here? Let us gather together inside the fortified cities. Let us at least die there fighting, since the LORD our God has condemned us to die. He has condemned us to drink the poison waters of judgment because we have sinned against him.

“ Why do we sit still? Assemble yourselves! Let’s enter into the fortified cities, and let’s be silent there; for Yahweh our God has put us to silence, and given us poisoned water to drink, because we have sinned against Yahweh.

他們在我的食物中加上苦膽，我渴了，他們把醋給我喝。

他們把苦膽調和的酒給他喝，他嘗了卻不肯喝。

恐怕你們中間有男人或女人，家族或支派，今日心裡偏離了耶和華我們的神，去事奉那些國的神，又恐怕你們中間有惡根，生出毒草和苦堇來；

“你們應當在猶大宣告，在耶路撒冷傳揚，說：‘要在境內吹號。’高聲呼叫，說：‘你們要集合起來，我們要進到堅固的城裡去！’要向錫安豎起旗號，趕快逃命，不可停留，因為我必使災禍與嚴重的毀滅，從北方而來。”

死者的親屬和殮葬的人把屍體從房子抬走，並問那躲在屋內深處的人：“還有人嗎？”那人回答：“沒有，不要再說話，不可再提耶和華的名。”

於是摩西對亞倫說：“這就是耶和華曾經告訴我們的，他說：‘在親近我的人中，我要顯為聖，在眾人面前，我要得榮耀。’”亞倫就默然無語。

全人類都當在耶和華面前肅靜，因為他從自己聖潔的居所被激動起來了。

人在幼年時就負軛，是多麼的美好！他要無言獨坐，因為這是耶和華加在他身上的。

我靜默不出聲，甚至連好話也不說（“甚至連好話也不說”或譯：“我安靜也得不到安慰”），我的痛苦就更加劇烈。

然而耶和華在他的聖殿裡，全地當在他面前肅靜。

耶和華啊！我們承認我們的罪惡，和我們列祖的罪孽；我們實在得罪了你。

祭司要使那婦人站在耶和華面前，鬆開她的頭髮，把思念的素祭，就是疑忌的素祭，放在她的手中，祭司的手裡要拿著使人招致咒詛的苦水。祭司要叫那婦人起誓，對她說：‘如果沒有人與你同寢，作妻子時沒有背棄丈夫被人玷污，你就免受這使人招致咒詛的苦水。但是，如果你作妻子時背棄了丈夫，被人玷污了；如果你在你的丈夫以外，曾與別的男人同寢’，這樣，祭司就要叫那婦人發咒起誓，繼續對她說：‘耶和華要使你的大腿消瘦，肚腹腫脹；願耶和華叫你在你的族人中成為咒詛和起誓的話柄；願這招致咒詛的水進入你的腹中，使你的肚腹腫脹，大腿消瘦。’那婦人要說：‘阿們、阿們。’“祭司要把這些咒詛的話寫在卷上，又把所寫的字洗在苦水裡，又要叫那婦人喝這招致咒詛的苦水，這招致咒詛的水要進入她裡面，就引起痛苦。

因為他們的葡萄樹，是所多瑪的葡萄樹所出的，是蛾摩拉的田地所生的；他們的葡萄是毒葡萄，每一掛都是苦的。

有四個痲風病人在城門口那裡，他們彼此說：“我們為甚麼坐在這裡等死呢？我們如果說：‘我們進城去吧！’城裡正有饑荒，我們就要死在那裡。我們如果坐在這裡，也是要死。現在，讓我們去投降亞蘭人的軍隊吧；如果他們饒我們一命，我們就可以活著；如果他們要殺死我們，我們就死吧。”
