They have healed the wound of my people lightly, saying,‘ Peace, peace,’ when there is no peace.

They offer superficial treatments for my people’s mortal wound. They give assurances of peace when there is no peace.

They have treated the brokenness of my dear people superficially, claiming,‘ Peace, peace,’ when there is no peace.

They have healed the brokenness of the daughter of My people superficially, Saying,‘ Peace, peace,’ But there is no peace.

For they have healed the hurt of the daughter of My people slightly, Saying,‘ Peace, peace!’ When there is no peace.

And they have healed the hurt of the daughter of my people slightly, saying, Peace, peace; when there is no peace.

They have treated superficially the brokenness of My dear people, claiming,‘ Peace, peace,’ when there is no peace.

For they have healed the hurt of the daughter of my people slightly, saying, Peace, peace; when[ there is] no peace.

They offer only superficial help for the hurt my dear people have suffered. They say,“ Everything will be all right!” But everything is not all right!

彼醫我民之傷、畧而為之、曰、平康平康、實無平康、

爾之先知所傳啟示、惟偽惟愚兮、未表爾罪、反爾俘囚兮、第宣偽詔、及爾被徙之由兮、

惟彼義人、我未使之殷憂、爾以妄誕使之心戚、亦堅惡人之手、致不轉離邪途、而得生存、

如人從虛偽、尚誑言、曰、我論清酒醇醪、向爾預言、彼則可為斯民之先知焉、○

耶和華諭我曰、諸先知託我名而妄言、我未遣之、未命之、未諭之、彼之所傳、乃虛偽之啟示、無憑之卜筮、妄誕之言詞、己心之詭詐、故耶和華論託其名而預言之先知曰、我未遣之、彼曰、鋒刃饑饉、必不及於斯土、惟彼先知、必為鋒刃饑饉所滅、

蓋彼誘惑我民、謂曰平康、實無平康、人築垣墉、彼以不堅之泥塗之、爾當告塗者云、垣必傾圮、霪雨下、巨雹降、飄風裂之、垣既傾圮、人不語爾云、爾所塗之泥安在乎、故主耶和華曰、我必震怒以飄風裂之、發忿以霪雨巨雹毀之、如是、爾以不堅之泥所塗之垣、我必毀之、傾之於地、露其基址、傾時、爾亦亡於其中、則知我乃耶和華、我洩我忿於垣、及以不堅之泥而塗之者、告爾曰、垣與塗者、俱歸烏有、此即以色列之先知、彼指耶路撒冷預言、為之得平康之啟示、實無平康、主耶和華言之矣、○
