They have built the high places of Topheth in the Valley of Ben Hinnom to burn their sons and daughters in the fire— something I did not command, nor did it enter my mind.

The people have built the high places of Topheth in the Valley of Ben Hinnom. There they worship other gods. And there they sacrifice their children in the fire. That is something I did not command. It did not even enter my mind.

他不但在欣嫩子谷燒香，還效法耶和華在以色列人面前趕走的外族人的可憎行徑，焚燒自己的兒子作祭物。

他們把自己的兒女當祭物獻給鬼魔，他們把自己的兒女獻給迦南的神像作祭物，流他們兒女無辜的血，玷污了那地方。

不遵守祂的禁令，去供奉和祭拜其他神明，祭拜日、月或星辰，

你還把你給我生的兒女燒作燔祭獻給偶像。難道你淫亂還不夠嗎？

耶和華對摩西說：「你把以下條例告訴以色列人。「在你們或寄居在你們中間的外族人中，如果有人把子女獻給假神摩洛，必須處死他，當地的人要用石頭打死他。我也必嚴懲那人，將他從民中剷除。因為他把子女獻給摩洛，玷污我的聖所，褻瀆我的聖名。如果那地方的人對此置之不理，沒有處死那人，我必嚴懲那人一家，從民中剷除他和那些追隨他與摩洛苟合的人。

他還在欣嫩子谷把自己的兒子燒死，獻作祭物。他行巫術、占卜、觀兆，求問靈媒和巫師。他做了許多耶和華視為惡的事，惹耶和華發怒。

你們不可按照他們的方式敬拜你們的上帝耶和華。他們祭拜自己神明的種種行為令耶和華憎惡，他們甚至焚燒自己的兒女獻給他們的神明。

他們為巴力建邱壇，燒死自己的兒子作燔祭獻給巴力。我從未吩咐他們這樣做，連提都沒提過，連想都沒想過。因此，看啊，時候將到，這地方不再叫陀斐特或欣嫩子谷，要叫殺戮谷。這是耶和華說的。

「你去向陶匠買一個瓦瓶，帶著百姓和祭司中的一些首領到哈珥西城門旁的欣嫩子谷，在那裡宣告我的話。

他在祭壇上殺死那些邱壇的祭司，又在壇上焚燒死人骨頭。之後，他返回耶路撒冷。

然後再沿著欣嫩子谷而上，直到耶布斯，即耶路撒冷的南面，再到欣嫩谷西面、利乏音谷北端的山頂；
