“‘ Cut off your hair and throw it away; take up a lament on the barren heights, for the Lord has rejected and abandoned this generation that is under his wrath.

The Lord says to the people of Jerusalem,“ Cut off your hair. Throw it away. Sing a song of sadness on the bare hilltops. I am very angry with you. I have turned my back on you. I have deserted you.

“‘ Cut off your hair and cast it away; raise a lamentation on the bare heights, for the Lord has rejected and forsaken the generation of his wrath.’

Shave your head in mourning, and weep alone on the mountains. For the Lord has rejected and forsaken this generation that has provoked his fury.’

Cut off the hair of your sacred vow and throw it away. Raise up a dirge on the barren heights, for the LORD has rejected and abandoned the generation under his wrath.’

約伯便起來，撕裂外袍，剪了頭髮，伏在地上敬拜，

猶大啊，為你的嬌麗兒女剪髮、使其頭光禿哦；使你的光禿大如禿鷹哦；因為他們都必流亡而離開你。

人必稱他們為被棄絕的銀渣，因為永恆主棄掉了他們。』

在這地無論大小的都必死，不得埋葬；必沒有人為他們哀哭；沒有人為他們而刻劃身體，或使頭部光禿。

『因為各人頭上光禿，各人鬍鬚剃淨，各人手有刻劃傷，各人腰束麻布。

底本的居民上高處去哭；摩押人為了尼波和米底巴而哀號；各人頭上光禿，各人鬍鬚剃淨；都在街上腰束麻布，在房頂上、在廣場上、個個都哀號。淚如雨下地哭。

萬軍之永恆主這麼說：『你們要考慮，將善唱哀歌的婦女召來；又打發人將有哀哭技能的婦女召集，叫他們趕快為我們舉哀，使我們的眼流下眼淚，使我們的眼皮湧出淚水。因為有哀聲從錫安聽到，說：「我們怎樣敗亡啊！我們慚愧極了！因為我們撇下了此地，因為人把我們的住處拋掉了。」』婦人們哪，你們要聽永恆主的話，你們的耳要領受他口中的話語；你們要教導兒女舉哀，各人要教導鄰舍唱哀歌。因為死亡上來，進了我們的窗戶，入了我們的宮堡，要從街上剪除孩童，從廣場上剪掉青年。

約翰看見許多法利賽人和撒都該人來、要受洗，便對他們說：『毒蛇的種啊，誰指示你們逃避將來的上帝義怒呢？

迦薩成了光禿；亞實基倫完啦；長頸人餘剩之民哪，你刻劃身體、要到幾時呢？

『邪惡淫亂的世代切求着神迹；除了約拿的神迹，再沒有神迹給它了。』就離開他們去了。

不是他兒女的以敗壞行為對待他；嘿！滿有弊病，乖僻彎曲的一代！

耶穌回答他們說：『邪惡淫亂的世代切求着神迹；但是除了神言人約拿的神迹以外，必沒有神迹給它。

永恆主就棄絕以色列的眾後裔，使他們受苦，把他們交在搶掠他們、的人手中，直到將他們丟掉離開自己面前。

你，你要為以色列的人君舉哀唱歌，

一個月之內我抹除了那三個牧民者；因為我的心厭煩他們，他們的心也憎嫌了我。我就說：『我不牧養你們了；那將要死的、由他死吧；那將要被抹除的、由他被抹除吧；那些餘剩的、由他們彼此喫彼此的肉吧。』

我實在告訴你們、這一切罪責、都必歸到這世代來。

『人子啊，你要為推羅王舉哀唱歌，對他說：主永恆主這麼說：『你是「完美」之印章，滿有才智，十全美麗，

彼得還用更多別樣的話鄭重地作見證，勸勉他們說：『你們要救自己、脫離這彎曲的世代。』
