“‘ Cut off your hair and throw it away; take up a lament on the barren heights, for the Lord has rejected and abandoned this generation that is under his wrath.

The Lord says to the people of Jerusalem,“ Cut off your hair. Throw it away. Sing a song of sadness on the bare hilltops. I am very angry with you. I have turned my back on you. I have deserted you.

“‘ Cut off your hair and cast it away; raise a lamentation on the bare heights, for the Lord has rejected and forsaken the generation of his wrath.’

Shave your head in mourning, and weep alone on the mountains. For the Lord has rejected and forsaken this generation that has provoked his fury.’

Cut off the hair of your sacred vow and throw it away. Raise up a dirge on the barren heights, for the LORD has rejected and abandoned the generation under his wrath.’

约伯便起来，撕裂外袍，剃了头，伏在地上下拜，

犹大啊，要为你所喜爱的儿女剪除你的头发，使头光秃，要大大地光秃，如同秃鹰，因为他们都被掳去离开你。

人必称他们为被弃的银渣，因为耶和华已经弃掉他们。”

连大带小，都必在这地死亡，不得葬埋。人必不为他们哀哭，不用刀划身，也不使头光秃。

“各人头上光秃，胡须剪短，手有划伤，腰束麻布。

他们上巴益，又往底本，到高处去哭泣。摩押人因尼波和米底巴哀号，各人头上光秃，胡须剃净。他们在街市上都腰束麻布，在房顶上和宽阔处俱各哀号，眼泪汪汪。

万军之耶和华如此说：“你们应当思想，将善唱哀歌的妇女召来，又打发人召善哭的妇女来，叫她们速速为我们举哀，使我们眼泪汪汪，使我们的眼皮涌出水来。因为听见哀声出于锡安，说：‘我们怎样败落了！我们大大地惭愧！我们撇下地土；人也拆毁了我们的房屋。’妇女们哪，你们当听耶和华的话，领受他口中的言语；又当教导你们的儿女举哀，各人教导邻舍唱哀歌。因为死亡上来，进了我们的窗户，入了我们的宫殿；要从外边剪除孩童，从街上剪除少年人。

约翰看见许多法利赛人和撒都该人也来受洗，就对他们说：“毒蛇的种类！谁指示你们逃避将来的忿怒呢？

迦萨成了光秃；平原中所剩的亚实基伦归于无有。你用刀划身，要到几时呢？

一个邪恶淫乱的世代求神迹，除了约拿的神迹以外，再没有神迹给他看。”耶稣就离开他们去了。

这乖僻弯曲的世代向他行事邪僻；有这弊病就不是他的儿女。

耶稣回答说：“一个邪恶淫乱的世代求看神迹，除了先知约拿的神迹以外，再没有神迹给他们看。

耶和华就厌弃以色列全族，使他们受苦，把他们交在抢夺他们的人手中，以致赶出他们离开自己面前，

“你当为以色列的王作起哀歌，

一月之内，我除灭三个牧人，因为我的心厌烦他们；他们的心也憎嫌我。我就说：“我不牧养你们。要死的，由他死；要丧亡的，由他丧亡；余剩的，由他们彼此相食。”

我实在告诉你们，这一切的罪都要归到这世代了。”

“人子啊，你为推罗王作起哀歌，说主耶和华如此说：你无所不备，智慧充足，全然美丽。

彼得还用许多话作见证，劝勉他们说：“你们当救自己脱离这弯曲的世代。”
