宰祭和供物、你不喜愛；你只為我挖通了耳朵好聽從；燔祭和解罪祭你也不要。

因為你不喜愛祭物；我若獻上燔祭，你也不悅納。上帝所要的祭乃是憂傷的靈；憂傷痛悔的心，上帝啊，你不藐視。

即使我不因你的祭物來責備你——你的燔祭倒不斷在我面前——我也不從你家中取公牛，不從你圈中取公山羊。因為森林中的百獸是我的，千山上的牲畜是我的。空中的飛鳥我都認識；野地的動物都屬於我。就使我餓了，我也不用告訴你；因為世界和其中所充滿的、都是我的。難道我還喫雄壯公牛的肉麼？還喝公山羊的血麼？你要以感謝為祭獻與上帝；要向至高者還你所許的願；在患難的日子你要呼求我，我便救拔你；你就榮耀我。』對惡人呢、上帝卻說：『你有甚麼權利可以背誦我的律例，口中提到我的約呢？你啊、你恨惡管教，卻將我的話丟在背後。
