圣经上说，‘我喜爱怜悯之心，而非祭物’，你们去揣摩这句话的意思吧。我来不是要召义人，乃是要召罪人。”

祭物和供品非你所悦，你开通了我的耳朵，燔祭和赎罪祭非你所要。

你不喜欢祭物，否则我会献上，你也不喜爱燔祭。你所要的祭是忧伤的心灵。上帝啊，你必不轻看忧伤痛悔的心。

我责怪你，不是因为你的祭物，也不是因为你经常献给我的燔祭。我不需要你棚里的公牛和圈里的山羊，因为林中的百兽是我的，群山上的牲畜是我的。山中的飞鸟和田野的动物都是我的。就是我饿了，也不用告诉你，因为世界和其中的一切都是我的。难道我吃公牛的肉，喝山羊的血吗？你要向上帝献上感恩祭，向至高者恪守诺言，在患难中呼求我，我必拯救你，你必尊崇我。”但上帝对恶人说：“你怎能背诵我的律法，谈论我的约？你憎恶我的管教，把我的话抛在脑后。

我们要全心、全意、全力爱祂，又要爱邻如己。这样做比献什么祭都好。”
