Therefore pray not thou for this people, neither lift up cry nor prayer for them, neither make intercession to me: for I will not hear thee.

耶和華說：「耶利米啊，不要為這些百姓禱告，不要替他們哀求，不要為他們向我祈求，因為我必不聽。

“至於你，不要為這人民祈禱，不要為他們呼求禱告，也不要為他們向我懇求，因為我不會聽你。

『你呢、也不要為這人民祈禱，不要為他們舉喊求或禱告聲，不要向我為他們代求，因為我不聽你。

勿為斯民祈禱、勿為之揚聲呼籲、勿為之祈求於我、我不爾聽也、

惟爾先知、勿為斯民祈禱、呼籲於上、我必不許。

主諭先知曰、惟爾勿為斯民祈禱、勿為其呼籲禱告、勿切求我、我必不允爾、

“ So do not pray for this people nor offer any plea or petition for them; do not plead with me, for I will not listen to you.

“ Jeremiah, do not pray for these people. Do not make any appeal or request for them. Do not beg me. I will not listen to you.

“ As for you, do not pray for this people, or lift up a cry or prayer for them, and do not intercede with me, for I will not hear you.

“ Pray no more for these people, Jeremiah. Do not weep or pray for them, and don’t beg me to help them, for I will not listen to you.

Then the LORD said,“ As for you, Jeremiah, do not pray for these people! Do not cry out to me or petition me on their behalf! Do not plead with me to save them, because I will not listen to you.

“ Therefore don’t pray for this people. Don’t lift up a cry or prayer for them or make intercession to me; for I will not hear you.

Therefore pray not thou for this people, neither lift up a cry or prayer for them: for I will not hear[ them] in the time that they cry unto me for their trouble.

Then said the LORD unto me, Though Moses and Samuel stood before me,[ yet] my mind[ could] not[ be] toward this people: cast[ them] out of my sight, and let them go forth.

Now therefore let me alone, that my wrath may wax hot against them, and that I may consume them: and I will make of thee a great nation.

Then said the LORD unto me, Pray not for this people for[ their] good.When they fast, I will not hear their cry; and when they offer burnt offering and an oblation, I will not accept them: but I will consume them by the sword, and by the famine, and by the pestilence.

Shall evil be recompensed for good? for they have digged a pit for my soul. Remember that I stood before thee to speak good for them,[ and] to turn away thy wrath from them.

If any man see his brother sin a sin[ which is] not unto death, he shall ask, and he shall give him life for them that sin not unto death. There is a sin unto death: I do not say that he shall pray for it.

Let me alone, that I may destroy them, and blot out their name from under heaven: and I will make of thee a nation mightier and greater than they.

And when ye spread forth your hands, I will hide mine eyes from you: yea, when ye make many prayers, I will not hear: your hands are full of blood.

Though these three men, Noah, Daniel, and Job, were in it, they should deliver[ but] their own souls by their righteousness, saith the Lord GOD.If I cause noisome beasts to pass through the land, and they spoil it, so that it be desolate, that no man may pass through because of the beasts:[ Though] these three men[ were] in it,[ as] I live, saith the Lord GOD, they shall deliver neither sons nor daughters; they only shall be delivered, but the land shall be desolate.Or[ if] I bring a sword upon that land, and say, Sword, go through the land; so that I cut off man and beast from it:Though these three men[ were] in it,[ as] I live, saith the Lord GOD, they shall deliver neither sons nor daughters, but they only shall be delivered themselves.Or[ if] I send a pestilence into that land, and pour out my fury upon it in blood, to cut off from it man and beast:Though Noah, Daniel, and Job,[ were] in it,[ as] I live, saith the Lord GOD, they shall deliver neither son nor daughter; they shall[ but] deliver their own souls by their righteousness.

Then shall they cry unto the LORD, but he will not hear them: he will even hide his face from them at that time, as they have behaved themselves ill in their doings.

And Benaiah the son of Jehoiada[ was over] both the Cherethites and the Pelethites; and David’s sons were chief rulers.
