昔以示羅為籲我名之所、以色列族作惡、我既有以處之矣。爾可往觀。

“‘ Go now to the place in Shiloh where I first made a dwelling for my Name, and see what I did to it because of the wickedness of my people Israel.

非利士人进攻，以色列人败了，各往自己的家逃跑。被杀的人很多，以色列倒下的步兵有三万。上帝的约柜被掳去，以利的两个儿子何弗尼、非尼哈也都被杀了。

上帝的家在示罗多少日子，但人为自己设立米迦所雕刻的像也在但多少日子。

我就必使这殿如示罗，使这城成为地上万国所诅咒的。’”

她又说：“荣耀离开以色列，因为上帝的约柜被掳去了。”

以色列全会众都聚集在示罗，把会幕设立在那里。那地已经被他们征服了。

甚至离弃示罗的帐幕，就是他在人间所搭的帐棚；又将他有能力的约柜交给人掳去，将他的荣耀交在敌人手中；并将他的百姓交给刀剑，向他的产业发怒。壮丁被火烧灭，童女也无婚礼颂歌。祭司倒在刀下，寡妇却不哀哭。

百姓回到营里，以色列的长老说：“耶和华今日为何使我们败在非利士人面前呢？我们要将耶和华的约柜从示罗抬到我们这里来，好让他来到我们中间，救我们脱离敌人的手掌。”于是百姓派人到示罗，从那里将坐在二基路伯上万军之耶和华的约柜抬来。以利的两个儿子何弗尼、非尼哈也与上帝的约柜同来。

那时你们要将我所吩咐你们的燔祭、祭物、十一奉献、手中的举祭，和向耶和华许愿的一切上好的祭，都带到耶和华—你们上帝所选择立他名的居所。

这人每年从本城上到示罗，敬拜万军之耶和华，向他献祭。在那里有以利的两个儿子何弗尼和非尼哈当耶和华的祭司。

但耶和华—你们的上帝在你们各支派中选择何处作为立他名的居所，你们就要到那里求问，
