便雅憫人乎、當出耶路撒冷逃避、在提哥亞吹角、在伯哈基琳樹立旗號、因大災大禍自北方而至、

“ Flee for safety, people of Benjamin! Flee from Jerusalem! Sound the trumpet in Tekoa! Raise the signal over Beth Hakkerem! For disaster looms out of the north, even terrible destruction.

The Lord says,“ People of Benjamin, run for safety! Run away from Jerusalem! Blow trumpets in the city of Tekoa! Warn everyone in Beth Hakkerem! Horrible trouble is coming from the north. The Babylonians will destroy everything with awful power.

Flee for safety, O people of Benjamin, from the midst of Jerusalem! Blow the trumpet in Tekoa, and raise a signal on Beth-haccherem, for disaster looms out of the north, and great destruction.

“ Run for your lives, you people of Benjamin! Get out of Jerusalem! Sound the alarm in Tekoa! Send up a signal at Beth hakkerem! A powerful army is coming from the north, coming with disaster and destruction.

“ Run for cover out of Jerusalem, Benjaminites. Sound the ram’s horn in Tekoa; raise a smoke signal over Beth-haccherem, for disaster threatens from the north, even a crushing blow.

“ O you children of Benjamin, Gather yourselves to flee from the midst of Jerusalem! Blow the trumpet in Tekoa, And set up a signal-fire in Beth Haccerem; For disaster appears out of the north, And great destruction.

Flee for safety, ye children of Benjamin, out of the midst of Jerusalem, and blow the trumpet in Tekoa, and raise up a signal on Beth- haccherem; for evil looketh forth from the north, and a great destruction.

“ Run for cover, Benjaminites, out of Jerusalem! Sound the ram’s horn in Tekoa; raise a smoke signal over Beth-haccherem, for disaster threatens from the north, even great destruction.

O ye children of Benjamin, gather yourselves to flee out of the midst of Jerusalem, and blow the trumpet in Tekoa, and set up a sign of fire in Bethhaccerem: for evil appeareth out of the north, and great destruction.

“ Run for safety, people of Benjamin! Get out of Jerusalem! Sound the trumpet in Tekoa! Light the signal fires at Beth Hakkerem! For disaster lurks out of the north; it will bring great destruction.

“ Flee for safety, you children of Benjamin, out of the middle of Jerusalem! Blow the trumpet in Tekoa and raise up a signal on Beth Haccherem, for evil looks out from the north with a great destruction.

And Malchijah the son of Rechab, the official of the district of Beth haccherem repaired the Dung Gate. He built it and installed its doors with its bolts and its bars.

He built Bethlehem, Etam, Tekoa,

But the sons of Benjamin did not drive out the Jebusites who lived in Jerusalem; so the Jebusites have lived with the sons of Benjamin in Jerusalem to this day.

So Joab sent a messenger to Tekoa and brought a wise woman from there, and said to her,“ Please follow mourning rites, and put on mourning garments now, and do not anoint yourself with oil but be like a woman who has been mourning for the dead for many days.

This is what the Lord says:“ Behold, there is a people coming from the north land, And a great nation will be stirred up from the remote parts of the earth.

Pick up your bundle from the ground, You who live under siege!For this is what the Lord says:“ Behold, I am slinging out the inhabitants of the land At this time, And I will cause them distress, So that they may be found.”

For the Lord God says this:“ Behold, I am going to bring upon Tyre from the north Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon, king of kings, with horses, chariots, cavalry, and a great army.He will kill your daughters on the mainland with the sword; and he will make siege walls against you, pile up an assault ramp against you, and raise up a large shield against you.And he will direct the blow of his battering rams against your walls, and he will tear down your towers with his axes.Because of the multitude of his horses, the dust raised by them will cover you; your walls will shake from the noise of cavalry, wagons, and chariots when he enters your gates as warriors enter a city that is breached.With the hoofs of his horses he will trample all your streets. He will kill your people with the sword, and your strong pillars will go down to the ground.Also they will take your riches as spoils and plunder your merchandise, tear down your walls and destroy your delightful houses, and throw your stones, your timbers, and your debris into the water.So I will put an end to the sound of your songs, and the sound of your harps will no longer be heard.I will turn you into a bare rock; you will become a dry place for the spreading of nets. You will not be rebuilt, for I the Lord have spoken,” declares the Lord God.The Lord God says this to Tyre:“ Will the coastlands not shake from the sound of your downfall when the wounded groan, when the slaughter takes place in your midst?Then all the princes of the sea will descend from their thrones, remove their robes, and strip off their colorfully woven garments. They will clothe themselves with trembling; they will sit on the ground, tremble again and again, and be appalled at you.And they will take up a song of mourning over you and say to you,‘ How you have perished, you inhabited one, From the seas, you famous city, Which was mighty on the sea, She and her inhabitants, Who imposed her terror On all her inhabitants!Now the coastlands will tremble On the day of your downfall; Yes, the coastlands which are by the sea Will be horrified at your passing.’ ”For this is what the Lord God says:“ When I make you a desolate city, like the cities which are not inhabited, when I bring up the deep over you and the great waters cover you,then I will bring you down with those who go down to the pit, to the people of old, and I will make you remain in the lower parts of the earth, like the ancient ruins, with those who go down to the pit, so that you will not be inhabited; but I will put glory in the land of the living.I will cause you sudden terrors and you will no longer exist; though you will be sought, you will never be found again,” declares the Lord God.

behold, I will send and take all the families of the north,’ declares the Lord,‘ and I will send to Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon, My servant, and will bring them against this land and against its inhabitants and against all these surrounding nations; and I will completely destroy them and make them an object of horror and hissing, and an everlasting place of ruins.

Declare in Judah and proclaim in Jerusalem, and say,“ Blow the trumpet in the land; Cry aloud and say,‘ Assemble, and let’s go Into the fortified cities.’Raise a flag toward Zion! Take refuge, do not stand still, For I am bringing evil from the north, And great destruction.

Then the Lord said to me,“ Out of the north the evil will be unleashed on all the inhabitants of the land.For, behold, I am calling all the families of the kingdoms of the north,” declares the Lord;“ and they will come and place, each one of them, his throne at the entrance of the gates of Jerusalem, and against all its walls around, and against all the cities of Judah.

The words of Amos, who was among the sheepherders from Tekoa, which he saw in visions concerning Israel in the days of Uzziah king of Judah, and in the days of Jeroboam son of Joash, king of Israel, two years before the earthquake.

Now the cities of the tribe of the sons of Benjamin according to their families were Jericho, Beth hoglah, and Emek keziz,Beth arabah, Zemaraim, and Bethel,Avvim, Parah, and Ophrah,Chephar ammoni, Ophni, and Geba; twelve cities with their villages.Gibeon, Ramah, and Beeroth,Mizpeh, Chephirah, and Mozah,Rekem, Irpeel, and Taralah,Zelah, Haeleph, the Jebusite city( that is, Jerusalem), Gibeah, Kiriath; fourteen cities with their villages. This is the inheritance of the sons of Benjamin according to their families.

The sound of a report! Behold, it is coming— A great roar from the land of the north— To make the cities of Judah A desolation, a haunt of jackals.

At the sound of the horseman and archer every city flees; They go into the thickets and climb among the rocks; Every city is abandoned, And no one lives in them.

My soul, my soul! I am in anguish! Oh, my heart! My heart is pounding in me; I cannot keep silent, Because, my soul, you have heard The sound of the trumpet, The alarm of war.Disaster upon disaster is proclaimed, For the whole land is devastated; Suddenly my tents are devastated, And my curtains in an instant.

Now as for the Jebusites, the inhabitants of Jerusalem, the sons of Judah could not drive them out; so the Jebusites live with the sons of Judah in Jerusalem to this day.
