Then say,‘ So will Babylon sink to rise no more because of the disaster I will bring on her. And her people will fall.’” The words of Jeremiah end here.

萬軍之耶和華說：「巴比倫寬闊的城牆要被夷為平地，高大的城門要被付之一炬，人們一切的辛勞都是徒然，列國勞碌的成果都化為灰燼。」

願地長出蒺藜而非麥子，長出雜草而非大麥。」約伯的話說完了。

祂必用滔滔洪水滅絕祂的敵人，把他們驅逐到黑暗中。尼尼微人啊，你們為何圖謀抵擋耶和華？祂要徹底毀滅你們，無需擊打兩次。

耶西的兒子大衛的禱告結束。

這時，有一位大力天使舉起一塊像大磨石的石頭扔進海裡，說：「巴比倫大城也必這樣被用力扔下去，消失得無影無蹤。

祂挫敗首領的傲氣，世上的君王都敬畏祂。

列邦的財富都化為灰燼，列國勞碌卻是一場空。這不都是出於萬軍之耶和華嗎？

海水漲溢，洶湧的波濤淹沒了巴比倫。

耶和華對我說：「你要告訴他們，以色列的上帝——萬軍之耶和華說，『你們要喝這杯烈怒，喝得大醉、嘔吐、倒地不起，因為我要使戰爭臨到你們。』

接著又一位天使說：「巴比倫大城倒塌了！倒塌了！她曾引誘萬民喝她那淫亂的烈酒。」

他用強有力的聲音喊著說：「巴比倫大城倒塌了！倒塌了！她成了鬼魔的住處、各樣污鬼的監獄和一切可憎的不潔鳥獸的牢籠！
