说：‘耶和华啊，你曾论到这地方说：要剪除它，不再有人与牲畜居住此地，必永远荒凉。’

并且要说，‘耶和华啊！你曾说要毁灭这地方，使这里人兽绝迹、永远荒凉。’

然后你要说：‘耶和华啊！论到这地方，你曾经亲自说过要把它剪除，使这地永远荒凉，没有人畜居住。’

也要說：「永恆主啊，關於這地方、你曾經說過，說要把它剪除，使沒有在這裏居住的，沒有人也沒有牲口，乃是要永遠荒涼。」

且曰、耶和華歟、爾言必滅斯土、使無居民、人畜俱泯、永為荒蕪、

當言於耶和華曰、爾言必滅斯邦人民畜群、刧掠一空、地變荒蕪、歷代若此、

亦當禱曰、主歟、主曾言必滅斯地、使無居處之人民牲畜、必為荒蕪直至永遠、

Then say,‘ Lord, you have said you will destroy this place, so that neither people nor animals will live in it; it will be desolate forever.’

Then say,‘ Lord, you have said you will destroy this place. You have said that no people or animals will live here. It will be empty forever.’

and say,‘ O Lord, you have said concerning this place that you will cut it off, so that nothing shall dwell in it, neither man nor beast, and it shall be desolate forever.’

Then say,‘ Lord, you have said that you will destroy Babylon so that neither people nor animals will remain here. She will lie empty and abandoned forever.’

Say,‘ LORD, you have threatened to cut off this place so that no one will live in it— people or animals. Indeed, it will remain desolate forever.’

and say,‘ You, Lord, have promised concerning this place to cut it off, so that there will be nothing living in it, whether man or animal; but it will be a permanent desolation.’

then you shall say,‘ O Lord, You have spoken against this place to cut it off, so that none shall remain in it, neither man nor beast, but it shall be desolate forever.’

and say, O Jehovah, thou hast spoken concerning this place, to cut it off, that none shall dwell therein, neither man nor beast, but that it shall be desolate for ever.

Then shalt thou say, O LORD, thou hast spoken against this place, to cut it off, that none shall remain in it, neither man nor beast, but that it shall be desolate for ever.

and say,‘ Yahweh, you have spoken concerning this place, to cut it off, that no one will dwell in it, neither man nor animal, but that it will be desolate forever.’

巴比倫在列國中輝煌無比，是迦勒底人的榮耀，但上帝必毀滅她，好像毀滅所多瑪和蛾摩拉一樣。那裡必人煙絕跡，世世代代無人居住，沒有阿拉伯人在那裡支搭帳篷，也無人牧放羊群。那裡躺臥著曠野的走獸，咆哮的猛獸佔滿房屋；鴕鳥住在那裡，野山羊在那裡跳躍嬉戲。豺狼在城樓上嚎叫，野狗在宮殿裡狂吠。巴比倫的結局近了，它的時候不多了！

「因此，巴比倫必杳無人煙，永遠荒涼，成為豺狼等野獸出沒之地、鴕鳥的棲身之所。上帝要毀滅巴比倫，像毀滅所多瑪、蛾摩拉及其周圍的城邑一樣，使那裡人煙絕跡。這是耶和華說的。

上天啊，眾聖徒、眾使徒和眾先知啊，為她的下場歡樂吧！因為上帝已經向她施行報應，為你們伸冤了。」這時，有一位大力天使舉起一塊像大磨石的石頭扔進海裡，說：「巴比倫大城也必這樣被用力扔下去，消失得無影無蹤。在你那裡，再也聽不見彈琴作樂、鳴笛吹號的聲音了，再也找不到能工巧匠了，再也聽不到推磨的聲音了，再也看不到閃耀的燈光了，再也聽不見新婚夫婦的歡笑聲了。因為你的商人曾經趾高氣揚，你的邪術曾經迷惑萬國，

我要使你永遠荒廢，你的城邑杳無人跡，這樣你就知道我是耶和華。

我要召集北方各族和我的僕人巴比倫王尼布甲尼撒，去攻擊這片土地和其中的居民以及周圍各國。我要徹底毀滅他們，使他們的下場很可怕、令人嗤笑、土地永遠荒涼。這是耶和華說的。

七十年後，我要報應巴比倫王和他國民迦勒底人的罪，使他們的土地永遠荒涼。這是耶和華說的。

大地要顫抖，痛苦地扭動，因為耶和華決意要攻擊巴比倫，使她荒無人煙。

毀滅天下的大山——巴比倫啊，我與你為敵，我要伸手攻擊你，把你從懸崖上滾下去，使你化為灰燼。這是耶和華說的。再無人用你的石頭做房角石或基石，你要永遠荒涼。這是耶和華說的。

巴比倫必淪為廢墟，杳無人跡，淪為豺狼出沒的地方，令人驚懼、嗤笑。
