Jeremiah had written on a scroll about all the disasters that would come upon Babylon— all that had been recorded concerning Babylon.

耶和華對我說：「你要拿一塊大板子，用通行的文字寫上『瑪黑珥·薩拉勒·哈施·罷斯』。我要召忠實的見證人，烏利亞祭司和耶比利迦的兒子撒迦利亞，為我作見證。」後來我與女先知親近，她就懷孕，生了一個兒子。耶和華對我說：「你要給他起名為瑪黑珥·薩拉勒·哈施·罷斯，因為在這孩子知道叫爸爸媽媽之前，大馬士革的財富和撒馬利亞的掠物都要被搬到亞述王面前。」

但以理啊！你當隱藏這些話語，封住這書卷，直到末後的時期；必有許多人往來奔走，知識也必增多。」

說：「把你所看見的寫在書卷上，送到那七個教會：以弗所、士每拿、佩爾伽馬、錫亞蒂拉、薩迪斯、費拉德菲亞和勞迪西亞。」
