Jeremiah had written on a scroll about all the disasters that would come upon Babylon— all that had been recorded concerning Babylon.

Jeremiah had written about all the trouble that would come on Babylon. He had written it down on a scroll. It included everything that had been recorded about Babylon.

耶和华回答我说：“把异象写下，清楚地记在泥版上，使读的人容易明白，因这异象关乎一定的日期，很快就要实现，决不徒然；纵有迟延，仍当等候，因为它一定会来到，绝不耽误。”

于是耶利米取了另一卷书卷，交给尼利亚的儿子文士巴录；巴录就从耶利米的口中，把犹大王约雅敬在火中烧掉的那书上的一切话，都写在书卷上，还加上很多类似的话。

现在你去，在他们面前把这话刻在版上，记在书卷上，作日后的证据，直到永永远远。

“耶和华以色列的神这样说：‘你要把我对你说过的一切话都写在书上。看哪！日子快到（这是耶和华的宣告），我必使我的子民以色列和犹大被掳的人归回。’耶和华说：‘我必使他们回到我赐给他们列祖之地，他们要重得这地为业。’”

“你取一卷书卷来，在上面写下我在约西亚作王的时候开始，直到今日，对你所说论到以色列和犹大，以及列国的一切话。或者犹大家听见我想要降给他们的一切灾祸，各人就回转，离开自己的恶道，我就赦免他们的罪孽和罪恶。”于是耶利米把尼利亚的儿子巴录叫了来，巴录就从耶利米口中，把耶和华向耶利米所说的一切话，都写在书卷上。

所以，你要把所看见的，现在的，和今后将要发生的事都写下来。

耶和华对我说：“你拿一块大版，用通用的文字写上‘玛黑珥．沙拉勒．哈施．罢斯’（“玛黑珥．沙拉勒．哈施．罢斯”意即“赶快掳掠，急速夺取”）。我要叫两个诚实的见证人，就是乌利亚祭司和耶比利家的儿子撒迦利亚，来为我作见证。”我亲近了女先知，就是我妻子，她就怀孕生子。耶和华对我说：“给他起名叫‘玛黑珥．沙拉勒．哈施．罢斯’，因为在这孩子晓得喊叫父母以先，大马士革的财宝和撒玛利亚的掳物，必在亚述王面前被搬了去。”

但以理啊！你要隐藏这些话，把这书密封，直到末期，必有许多人来往奔跑，知识增多。”

说：“你所看见的，要写在书上，也要寄给以弗所、士每拿、别迦摩、推雅推拉、撒狄、非拉铁非、老底嘉七个教会。”
