Jeremiah had written on a scroll about all the disasters that would come upon Babylon— all that had been recorded concerning Babylon.

Jeremiah had written about all the trouble that would come on Babylon. He had written it down on a scroll. It included everything that had been recorded about Babylon.

耶和華對我說：「將我的啟示記下來，清楚地刻在版上，便於人們閱讀。這啟示實現的日期還沒到，它是關於末後的事，沒有虛假。即使緩慢，也要等候，因為這事終必發生，不再遲延。

於是，耶利米又拿了一個卷軸，交給尼利亞的兒子書記巴錄，他按耶利米的口述，把猶大王約雅敬燒毀的那卷軸上的話都記下來，還增添了許多類似的話。

耶和華對我說：「現在，你去當著他們的面把這些話刻在版上，記在書卷上，永遠留給後世作明證。

「以下是以色列的上帝耶和華的話，你要把我對你說的話寫在書卷上。耶和華說，『看啊，時候將到，我要使我被擄的子民——以色列人和猶大人回到故土，回到我賜給他們祖先的土地上。這是耶和華說的。』」

「你拿一個卷軸來，把從約西亞登基直到現在我告訴你有關以色列、猶大和各國的事都寫在上面。或許猶大人聽了我打算要降給他們的災禍，便改邪歸正，我就赦免他們的過犯和罪惡。」耶利米就叫來尼利亞的兒子巴錄。巴錄按耶利米的口述把耶和華的話寫在卷軸上，

所以，你要將所看見的一切——現在和將來要發生的事都記錄下來。

耶和華對我說：「你去拿塊大的寫字板，用通用的文字在上面寫上『瑪黑珥·沙拉勒·哈施·罷斯』。我會吩咐忠信的祭司烏利亞和耶比利迦的兒子撒迦利亞為這事做見證。」我以賽亞與妻子同房，她就懷孕生了個兒子。耶和華對我說：「給他取名叫瑪黑珥·沙拉勒·哈施·罷斯。因為這孩子會叫父親母親之前，亞述王必把大馬士革的財富和撒瑪利亞的戰利品洗劫一空。」

但以理啊，這些話要保密，要把這書封起來，直到末了。許多人必四處探究，因而知識必增多。」

「把你所看見的寫在書上，然後送給以弗所、士每拿、別迦摩、推雅推喇、撒狄、非拉鐵非和老底嘉七間教會。」
