A destroyer will come against Babylon; her warriors will be captured, and their bows will be broken. For the Lord is a God of retribution; he will repay in full.

耶和華上帝兮、維爾在昔、雪忿報仇、今也彰爾榮光也、寰區之內、咸爾所鞫、願爾勃興、驕泰之人、爾罰之兮、

因爾刧掠邦國、不可勝數、殺人強據、害諸邑民、故其餘民、亦將取爾之所藏、

耶和華曰、敵人至自北方、攻巴比倫、天地萬物、謳歌不已。

斷弓折戈、車爇以火、使在寰宇、人不興戎兮、

今耶和華報巴比倫、以雪宿忿、凡欲自救者、必出斯邑、庶或免罹災害。

越在彼土、載折弓矢、載毀干戈兮。

伸冤在我、我必報之、斯時也、其足傾跌、禍及其身、所定速至。

耶和華曰昔巴比倫迦勒底人、在郇邑作惡、為爾目睹、我必報之。

視人所為、而加報施、仇敵之眾、洲島之民、赫然怒之、而降以罰、

又爾所見之獸、與其十角、將惡淫婦、使之貧乏裸裎食其肉、爇之以火、

耶和華又曰、迦勒底地為人侵奪、奪之者皆饜其欲。

以色列眾邑之民、必出取敵之干戈弓矢杖梃、用以為炊、歷至七年、

災降於卜筮之輩、使之愚蠢、悍勇之卒、使之怯懦。

我為郇邑、報仇洩憤、正在斯時、

巴比倫武士不敢出戰、堅守城垣、已喪厥膽、有若婦女、敵人驟至、燬宅第、折門楗。

罪惡滔天、其不義、上帝錄之、以其所加諸人者、即加之彼、視其所行、執施惟倍、彼以斝使人飲者、今亦倍以罰之、

若人喪膽、則告之曰、強爾志、毋畏葸、爾之上帝、將臨汝、以伸爾冤、報爾仇、加以援手、

我得默示、知患難將至、強者行攘奪、暴者行虐遇、無所禁止、以攔人、米太人往哉、環攻巴比倫、維昔巴比倫俾民哀號、己不令此聲入耳矣。

天歟、聖使徒及先知、可欣喜、以巴比倫罪爾、而上帝亦罪巴比倫故也、

上帝至公、人苦爾者、報之以苦、

巴比倫之邑民兮、昔爾害予、擲嬰孩於石、今有人待爾若此者、必得純嘏兮。

萬有之主耶和華曰、以攔善射過人、我將折之、

英武者折其弓、荏弱者賦以力。

上帝鞫人、維公維正、大淫婦以淫亂誘天下、流上帝僕之血、故上帝罪之、為伸其冤、

恃以色列有力之牧者、即雅各有能之上帝、故其弓仍勁、其手尚強。

爾左手執弓、我將奪之、爾右手取矢、我使之隕地、

不知其刃、反貫其衷、而折其弓兮、
