蓋耶和華使巴比倫荒蕪、絕其中之譁然、敵若大水、波濤漰渤、發其喧闐之聲、

蓋我耶和華滅巴比倫、邑中譁然、聲若波濤洶湧、我平息之。

主滅巴比倫、其中諠譁、聲若大水之波濤洶湧、必使盡息、

The Lord will destroy Babylon; he will silence her noisy din. Waves of enemies will rage like great waters; the roar of their voices will resound.

I will destroy Babylon. I will put an end to all its noise. Waves of enemies will sweep through it like great waters. The roar of their voices will fill the air.

For the Lord is laying Babylon waste and stilling her mighty voice. Their waves roar like many waters; the noise of their voice is raised,

For the Lord is destroying Babylon. He will silence her loud voice. Waves of enemies pound against her; the noise of battle rings through the city.

For the LORD is going to devastate Babylon; he will silence her mighty voice. Their waves roar like a huge torrent; the tumult of their voice resounds,

For the Lord is going to destroy Babylon, And He will make her loud noise vanish from her. And their waves will roar like many waters; The clamor of their voices sounds forth.

Because the Lord is plundering Babylon And silencing her loud voice, Though her waves roar like great waters, And the noise of their voice is uttered,

For Jehovah layeth Babylon waste, and destroyeth out of her the great voice; and their waves roar like many waters; the noise of their voice is uttered:

我要使他們的歡樂聲、新郎新娘的歡笑聲、推磨聲和燈光都消失。

天使又對我說：「你看見的那淫婦所坐的眾水象徵來自各民族、各國家、各語言族群的人。

迦勒底人像群獅一樣怒吼，又像幼獅一樣咆哮。他們食慾大振時，我要為他們設盛宴，使他們酩酊大醉，狂歡亂叫，長眠不起。這是耶和華說的。

雖然萬民喧囂如洶湧的洪水，但上帝一聲斥責，他們便逃往遠方，像山頂上被風捲走的糠秕，又如狂風颳走的塵埃。

又平息怒海狂濤，止息列邦的喧囂。

死亡的鎖鏈曾纏住我，罪惡的狂流曾淹沒我。

海水漲溢，洶湧的波濤淹沒了巴比倫。

所以主耶和華說，『泰爾啊，我要跟你作對，我要激起多國來攻擊你，就像大海掀起波浪一樣。

以下是關於摩押的預言：摩押的亞珥城必在一夜之間被摧毀，淪為廢墟；摩押的基珥城必在一夜之間被摧毀，淪為廢墟。

耶和華啊，大海澎湃怒吼，波浪滔天。高天之上的耶和華充滿力量，超過咆哮的洪水和怒吼的大海。

「日月星辰必顯出異兆，怒海洶湧、波濤翻騰，令各國驚恐不安。

在你那裡，再也聽不見彈琴作樂、鳴笛吹號的聲音了，再也找不到能工巧匠了，再也聽不到推磨的聲音了，再也看不到閃耀的燈光了，再也聽不見新婚夫婦的歡笑聲了。因為你的商人曾經趾高氣揚，你的邪術曾經迷惑萬國，

「迦勒底的姑娘啊，要靜靜地坐著，進入黑暗中，因為你不再被稱為列國之後。

他們要在迦勒底肆意擄掠，直到心滿意足。這是耶和華說的。搶奪我產業的巴比倫人啊，你們歡喜快樂，像草場上歡跳的母牛犢，又像嘶鳴的公馬。生養你們的母親巴比倫將羞愧難當，蒙受恥辱，排在列國之末，淪為乾旱的荒漠。由於耶和華的憤怒，巴比倫必無人居住，荒涼不堪。她滿目瘡痍，令路人驚懼、嗤笑。弓箭手啊，你們要列陣圍攻巴比倫，向她猛射，不要吝嗇箭枝，因為她得罪了耶和華。你們要從四面向她吶喊，她必投降，她的堡壘將傾倒，城牆將坍塌，因為耶和華要報應她。你們要向她復仇，她怎樣對待別人，你們也要怎樣對待她。

歡快的鼓聲止息，悅耳的琴音消失，宴樂的喧鬧不復聽聞。再沒有人對酒高歌，濃酒變得苦澀。毀壞的城一片荒涼，家家戶戶大門緊閉，無人能進。人們因無酒而在街上喊叫；一切歡樂變作哀愁，地上喜樂不復存在。
