開口說：「這大巴比倫，難道不是我以自己的權能力量建為國都，為要顯出我威嚴的尊榮嗎？」

我要派遣他去攻擊一個不敬虔的國家，吩咐他去攻打我所惱怒的子民，擄財掠貨，踐踏他們，如同踐踏街上的泥土。但這不是他所想的，也不是他的心思打算；他心裡所懷的卻是毀滅、剪除多國。

「明亮的晨星，黎明之子啊，你怎麼會從天墜落呢？你這擊敗列國的，怎麼會被砍倒在地呢？你心裡曾說：『我要升到天上，我要高舉我的寶座在神的眾星之上，我要坐在北方極處的聚會山上，我要升到雲端之上，我要使自己與至高者相比。』然而你必被丟下陰間，下到陰坑的極處！
