For the time will surely come when I will punish the idols of Babylon; her whole land will be disgraced and her slain will all lie fallen within her.

I will punish the gods of Babylon. That time will certainly come. Then the whole land will be full of shame. Its people will lie down and die there.

“ Therefore, behold, the days are coming when I will punish the images of Babylon; her whole land shall be put to shame, and all her slain shall fall in the midst of her.

For the time is surely coming when I will punish this great city and all her idols. Her whole land will be disgraced, and her dead will lie in the streets.

你們要在萬國中傳揚，宣告，豎立大旗；要宣告，不可隱瞞，說：「巴比倫被攻取，彼勒蒙羞，米羅達驚惶。巴比倫的神像都蒙羞，它的偶像都驚惶。」

彼勒叩拜，尼波屈身；巴比倫的偶像馱在走獸和牲畜背上。你們所抬的成了重馱，使牲畜疲乏。這些神明一同屈身叩拜，不能救自己，反倒遭人擄去。

看哪，有一對一對騎着馬的軍隊前來。他就回應說：「巴比倫傾倒了！傾倒了！他把巴比倫神明的一切雕刻偶像都打碎在地上了。」

有刀劍臨到迦勒底人和巴比倫的居民，臨到它的領袖與智慧人。這是耶和華說的。有刀劍臨到矜誇的人，他們就變為愚昧；有刀劍臨到它的勇士，他們就驚惶。有刀劍臨到它的馬匹、戰車，和其中混居的各族，他們變成與婦女一樣；有刀劍臨到它的寶物，寶物就被搶奪。有乾旱臨到它的眾水，它們就必乾涸；因為這是雕刻偶像之地，人因偶像顛狂。所以野獸和土狼必住在那裏，鴕鳥也住在其中，永遠無人居住，世世代代無人定居。巴比倫要像上帝所傾覆的所多瑪、蛾摩拉和鄰近的城鎮一樣，必無人住在那裏，也無人在其中寄居。這是耶和華說的。

它們都是虛無的，是迷惑人的東西，到它們受罰的時刻必被除滅。

所以萬軍之耶和華如此說：看哪，我必懲罰他們；他們的壯丁必被刀劍殺死，他們的兒女必因饑荒而死，

你們的母親極其抱愧，生你們的必然蒙羞。看哪，她要列在諸國之末，成為曠野、旱地、沙漠；因耶和華的憤怒，巴比倫必無人居住，全然荒涼，凡經過的都要受驚駭，又因它所遭的災殃嗤笑。所有拉弓的啊，要在巴比倫的四圍擺陣，射箭攻擊它，不用愛惜箭枝，因為它得罪了耶和華。要在它四圍吶喊：「它已經投降，堡壘坍塌了，城牆拆毀了！」這是耶和華所報的仇。你們要向它報仇；它怎樣待人，你們也要怎樣待它。你們要將巴比倫撒種的和收割時拿鐮刀的全都剪除。他們各人因躲避欺壓的刀劍，必歸回本族，逃到本土。

凡說「耶和華的默示」的，無論是先知、是祭司、是百姓，我必懲罰那人和他的家。
