For the time will surely come when I will punish the idols of Babylon; her whole land will be disgraced and her slain will all lie fallen within her.

I will punish the gods of Babylon. That time will certainly come. Then the whole land will be full of shame. Its people will lie down and die there.

“ Therefore, behold, the days are coming when I will punish the images of Babylon; her whole land shall be put to shame, and all her slain shall fall in the midst of her.

For the time is surely coming when I will punish this great city and all her idols. Her whole land will be disgraced, and her dead will lie in the streets.

Therefore, look, the days are coming when I will punish Babylon’s carved images. Her entire land will suffer shame, and all her slain will lie fallen within her.

偶像都是虚无的，是荒谬可笑的作品；到了讨罪的时候，它们必被除灭。

“七十年满了以后，我要按着他们的罪孽惩罚巴比伦王和那国，就是迦勒底人之地，使它永远荒凉。”这是耶和华的宣告。

“但我必在你们眼前报复巴比伦和迦勒底所有的居民在锡安所作的一切恶事。”这是耶和华的宣告。

耶和华立你自己结交（“结交”原文作“教导”）的盟友为首领管辖你，那时，你还有什么话说呢？痛苦岂不把你抓住，好像妇女生产时的痛苦一样吗？

它的城镇变为荒凉，成为干旱的地和沙漠，没有人住在里面，也没有人经过。

万军之耶和华这样说：“看哪！我要惩罚他们；他们的年轻人必死在刀下，他们的儿女必因饥荒而死。

但你们的母亲必极度羞愧，生你们的必受耻辱。看哪！她要在列国中沦为最弱小的，成为旷野、旱地、沙漠。”因耶和华的烈怒，巴比伦必没有人居住，完全荒废；每一个住过巴比伦的，都必因这地遭受的一切创伤而惊骇，并且嗤笑它。所有拉弓的啊！你们要在巴比伦四围列阵；射箭攻击它，不要吝啬箭枝，因为它得罪了耶和华。你们要在它的四周吶喊攻击它；它投降了，它城墙的支柱倒塌了，它的城墙拆毁了。因为这是耶和华的报复；你们要向巴比伦报复，它怎样待人，你们也要怎样待它。你们要把播种的，和在收割的时候手持镰刀的，都从巴比伦剪除；因为欺压者的刀剑，他们各人必归回自己的本族，各自逃回自己的故乡。

“无论是先知、是祭司，或是人民，凡说‘这是耶和华的默示’的，我都要惩罚那人和他的家。”
