I will punish Bel in Babylon and make him spew out what he has swallowed. The nations will no longer stream to him. And the wall of Babylon will fall.

And I will punish Bel in Babylon, and take out of his mouth what he has swallowed. The nations shall no longer flow to him; the wall of Babylon has fallen.

And I will punish Bel, the god of Babylon, and make him vomit up all he has eaten. The nations will no longer come and worship him. The wall of Babylon has fallen!

王啊，這樹就是你！你繼續強大，變得堅壯，你的權勢繼續強大，高達於天，你的權柄直到地極。

地上的眾君王，就是那些與她行淫亂、一同驕奢淫逸的，當看見焚燒她時的煙，就會為她捶胸哀哭。他們因懼怕她所受的折磨，就遠遠地站著，說：「有禍了！有禍了！宏大的城，強大的巴比倫城啊！因為一時之間，你的審判就來到了！」地上的商人也為她哭泣、悲傷，因為再也沒有人買他們的貨物了；那些貨物就是：金、銀、寶石、珍珠，細麻布、紫色布、絲綢、深紅色布，各種香木，各種象牙製品，各種極貴重的木、銅、鐵和大理石的製品，肉桂、香料、香、香液、乳香；酒、油、麵粉、麥子；牲畜、羊、馬、馬車；人的肉體和靈魂。「你心所貪戀的果子離開了你；一切珍饈美味、華麗物品，都從你那裡消逝了，人絕不能再看到它們了。」販賣這些東西的商人，就是那些由於她而發了財的人，因懼怕她所受的折磨，就會遠遠地站著，哭泣、悲傷，說：「有禍了！有禍了！宏大的城，那曾身穿細麻、紫色、深紅色衣服，以金子、寶石、珍珠為裝飾的城啊！這麼多的財富，竟然在一時之間就化為烏有了！」所有的船長、所有到處航行的人、水手們、所有靠海為業的人，都遠遠地站著。他們看著焚燒她時的煙，呼喊說：「哪一個城能與這大城相比呢？」他們把塵土撒在自己頭上，哭泣、悲傷，呼喊說：「有禍了！有禍了！宏大的城，所有靠著她在海上有船隻的人都因她的財富發了財。她竟然在一時之間就化為烏有了！

因此我發出命令：所有的民族、國家、語言群體中，誰說話冒犯了沙德拉克、米沙克、亞伯尼哥的神，誰就必被千刀萬剮，他的家必變為一堆廢墟，因為沒有別的神能這樣解救人。」

米底亞人大流士接取這國；當時他六十二歲。

主把猶大王約雅敬以及神殿中的一部分器具，交在尼布甲尼撒的手中；他就都帶到示拿地他神明的殿宇，把器具放入他神明的寶庫。

這句話的釋義是這樣的：『彌尼』就是神已經數算了你國的年日，使它終結了；

彼勒屈伏，尼波屈蹲，它們的像馱在走獸和牲畜上。你們所抬的成了重負，成了疲乏牲畜的負載。它們一同屈蹲、屈伏，不但不能保全負載，連自己也被擄去了。

伯沙撒酒酣之時，吩咐人把他先王尼布甲尼撒從耶路撒冷的聖殿中取走的金銀器皿帶來，好讓王和他的大臣們、妻子們、妃嬪們都用這些來喝酒。於是人把聖殿——耶路撒冷神的殿中所取走的金器皿帶來，王和他的大臣們、妻子們、妃嬪們就用這些來喝酒。他們一邊喝酒，一邊稱讚那些用金、銀、銅、鐵、木、石所做的神明。
