王啊，这树就是你！你继续强大，变得坚壮，你的权势继续强大，高达于天，你的权柄直到地极。

地上的众君王，就是那些与她行淫乱、一同骄奢淫逸的，当看见焚烧她时的烟，就会为她捶胸哀哭。他们因惧怕她所受的折磨，就远远地站着，说：“有祸了！有祸了！宏大的城，强大的巴比伦城啊！因为一时之间，你的审判就来到了！”地上的商人也为她哭泣、悲伤，因为再也没有人买他们的货物了；那些货物就是：金、银、宝石、珍珠，细麻布、紫色布、丝绸、深红色布，各种香木，各种象牙制品，各种极贵重的木、铜、铁和大理石的制品，肉桂、香料、香、香液、乳香；酒、油、面粉、麦子；牲畜、羊、马、马车；人的肉体和灵魂。“你心所贪恋的果子离开了你；一切珍馐美味、华丽物品，都从你那里消逝了，人绝不能再看到它们了。”贩卖这些东西的商人，就是那些由于她而发了财的人，因惧怕她所受的折磨，就会远远地站着，哭泣、悲伤，说：“有祸了！有祸了！宏大的城，那曾身穿细麻、紫色、深红色衣服，以金子、宝石、珍珠为装饰的城啊！这么多的财富，竟然在一时之间就化为乌有了！”所有的船长、所有到处航行的人、水手们、所有靠海为业的人，都远远地站着。他们看着焚烧她时的烟，呼喊说：“哪一个城能与这大城相比呢？”他们把尘土撒在自己头上，哭泣、悲伤，呼喊说：“有祸了！有祸了！宏大的城，所有靠着她在海上有船只的人都因她的财富发了财。她竟然在一时之间就化为乌有了！

因此我发出命令：所有的民族、国家、语言群体中，谁说话冒犯了沙德拉克、米沙克、亚伯尼哥的神，谁就必被千刀万剐，他的家必变为一堆废墟，因为没有别的神能这样解救人。”

米底亚人大流士接取这国；当时他六十二岁。

主把犹大王约雅敬以及神殿中的一部分器具，交在尼布甲尼撒的手中；他就都带到示拿地他神明的殿宇，把器具放入他神明的宝库。

这句话的释义是这样的：‘弥尼’就是神已经数算了你国的年日，使它终结了；

彼勒屈伏，尼波屈蹲，它们的像驮在走兽和牲畜上。你们所抬的成了重负，成了疲乏牲畜的负载。它们一同屈蹲、屈伏，不但不能保全负载，连自己也被掳去了。

伯沙撒酒酣之时，吩咐人把他先王尼布甲尼撒从耶路撒冷的圣殿中取走的金银器皿带来，好让王和他的大臣们、妻子们、妃嫔们都用这些来喝酒。于是人把圣殿——耶路撒冷神的殿中所取走的金器皿带来，王和他的大臣们、妻子们、妃嫔们就用这些来喝酒。他们一边喝酒，一边称赞那些用金、银、铜、铁、木、石所做的神明。
