他们像缠结着的荆棘，像喝醉了的酒徒，又像枯干的禾秸，全都被吞灭了。

至于你，你必喝醉，必被隐藏；你必因仇敌的缘故，寻找避难所。

我的心迷糊，惊恐威吓着我；我所爱慕的黄昏，竟使我战兢。他们摆设筵席，铺张地毡，又吃又喝。领袖们，起来吧！用油抹净盾牌。

伯沙撒王为他的一千大臣大摆筵席，他和他们一同喝酒。伯沙撒喝酒欢畅的时候，下令把他先祖尼布甲尼撒从耶路撒冷圣殿里掠取的金银器皿拿来，好让他和他的大臣、妻妾、妃嫔用这些器皿来喝酒。于是人把从耶路撒冷圣殿里，就是神的殿里，掠来的金器皿拿来；王和他的大臣、妻妾、妃嫔就用这些器皿来喝酒。他们喝酒，赞美那些用金、银、铜、铁、木、石所做的神。

当夜，迦勒底人的王伯沙撒被杀。

你们要使摩押沉醉，因为它向耶和华妄自尊大；摩押必跌在自己所吐之物上面，也必成为被人讥笑的对象。

耶和华我的神啊！求你看顾我，应允我；求你使我的眼睛明亮，免得我沉睡至死；

心里勇敢的人都被抢掠，他们长睡不起；所有大能的勇士都无力举手。雅各的神啊！因你的斥责，坐车的和骑马的都沉睡了。
