Therefore this is what the Lord says:“ Behold, I am going to plead your case And take vengeance for you; And I will dry up her sea And make her fountain dry.

Therefore this is what the Lord says:“ See, I will defend your cause and avenge you; I will dry up her sea and make her springs dry.

So the Lord says,“ I will stand up for you. I will pay the Babylonians back for what they did to you. I will dry up their water supply. I will make their springs run dry.

Therefore thus says the Lord:“ Behold, I will plead your cause and take vengeance for you. I will dry up her sea and make her fountain dry,

This is what the Lord says to Jerusalem:“ I will be your lawyer to plead your case, and I will avenge you. I will dry up her river, as well as her springs,

Therefore, this is what the LORD says: I am about to champion your cause and take vengeance on your behalf; I will dry up her sea and make her fountain run dry.

Therefore thus says the Lord:“ Behold, I will plead your case and take vengeance for you. I will dry up her sea and make her springs dry.

Therefore thus saith Jehovah: Behold, I will plead thy cause, and take vengeance for thee; and I will dry up her sea, and make her fountain dry.

Therefore, this is what the Lord says: I am about to plead your case and take vengeance on your behalf; I will dry up her sea and make her fountain run dry.

Therefore thus saith the LORD; Behold, I will plead thy cause, and take vengeance for thee; and I will dry up her sea, and make her springs dry.

Therefore the LORD says,“ I will stand up for your cause. I will pay the Babylonians back for what they have done to you. I will dry up their sea. I will make their springs run dry.

Therefore Yahweh says:“ Behold, I will plead your cause, and take vengeance for you. I will dry up her sea, and make her fountain dry.

A drought on her waters, and they will be dried up! For it is a land of idols, And they go insane at frightful images.

Never take your own revenge, beloved, but leave room for the wrath of God, for it is written:“ Vengeance is Mine, I will repay,” says the Lord.

I know that the Lord will maintain the cause of the afflicted, And justice for the poor.

I am the One who says to the depth of the sea,‘ Dry up!’ And I will make your rivers dry up.

Rejoice, you nations, with His people; For He will avenge the blood of His servants, And will return vengeance on His adversaries, And will atone for His land and His people.”

Vengeance is Mine, and retribution; In due time their foot will slip. For the day of their disaster is near, And the impending things are hurrying to them.’

For we know Him who said,“ Vengeance is Mine, I will repay.” And again,“ The Lord will judge His people.”It is a terrifying thing to fall into the hands of the living God.

Since you have looted many nations, All the rest of the peoples will loot you— Because of human bloodshed and violence done to the land, To the town and all its inhabitants.“ Woe to him who makes evil profit for his household, To put his nest on high, To be saved from the hand of catastrophe!You have planned a shameful thing for your house By bringing many peoples to an end; So you are sinning against yourself.For the stone will cry out from the wall, And the rafter will answer it from the framework.“ Woe to him who builds a city with bloodshed, And founds a town with violence!Is it not indeed from the Lord of armies That peoples labor merely for fire, And nations become weary for nothing?For the earth will be filled With the knowledge of the glory of the Lord, As the waters cover the sea.“ Woe to him who makes his neighbor drink; To you who mix in your venom even to make your neighbors drunk, So as to look at their genitalia!You will be filled with disgrace rather than honor. Drink, you yourself, and expose your own foreskin! The cup in the Lord’s right hand will come around to you, And utter disgrace will come upon your glory.For the violence done to Lebanon will overwhelm you, And the devastation of its animals by which you terrified them, Because of human bloodshed and violence done to the land, To the town and all its inhabitants.

This is what the Lord of armies says:“ The sons of Israel are oppressed, And the sons of Judah as well; And all who took them captive have held them firmly, They have refused to let them go.Their Redeemer is strong, the Lord of armies is His name; He will vigorously plead their case So that He may bring rest to their land, But turmoil to the inhabitants of Babylon.

For their Redeemer is strong; He will plead their case against you.

Flee from the midst of Babylon, And each of you save his life! Do not perish in her punishment, For this is the Lord’s time of vengeance; He is going to repay to her what she deserves.

For the Lord will plead their case And take the life of those who rob them.

He turns rivers into a wilderness, And springs of water into a thirsty ground;

Do not rejoice over me, enemy of mine. Though I fall I will rise; Though I live in darkness, the Lord is a light for me.I will endure the rage of the Lord Because I have sinned against Him, Until He pleads my case and executes justice for me. He will bring me out to the light, And I will look at His righteousness.Then my enemy will see, And shame will cover her who said to me,“ Where is the Lord your God?” My eyes will look at her; At that time she will be trampled down Like mud of the streets.

The sixth angel poured out his bowl on the great river, the Euphrates; and its water was dried up, so that the way would be prepared for the kings from the east.

After these things I heard something like a loud voice of a great multitude in heaven, saying,“ Hallelujah! Salvation, glory, and power belong to our God,because His judgments are true and righteous; for He has judged the great prostitute who was corrupting the earth with her sexual immorality, and He has avenged the blood of His bond servants on her.”And a second time they said,“ Hallelujah! Her smoke rises forever and ever.”

I was angry with My people, I profaned My heritage And handed them over to you. You did not show mercy to them, On the aged you made your yoke very heavy.Yet you said,‘ I will be a queen forever.’ These things you did not consider Nor remember the outcome of them.“ Now, then, hear this, you luxuriant one, Who lives securely, Who says in her heart,‘ I am, and there is no one besides me. I will not sit as a widow, Nor know the loss of children.’But these two things will come on you suddenly in one day: Loss of children and widowhood. They will come on you in full measure In spite of your many sorceries, In spite of the great power of your spells.

Indeed, this is what the Lord says:“ Even the captives of the mighty man will be taken away, And the prey of a tyrant will be rescued; For I will contend with the one who contends with you, And I will save your sons.I will feed your oppressors with their own flesh, And they will become drunk with their own blood as with sweet wine; And humanity will know that I, the Lord, am your Savior And your Redeemer, the Mighty One of Jacob.”

Lord, God of vengeance, God of vengeance, shine forth!Rise up, Judge of the earth, Pay back retribution to the proud.How long, Lord, shall the wicked— How long shall the wicked triumph?

This is what the Lord your Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel says:“ For your sake I have sent to Babylon, And will bring them all down as fugitives, Even the Chaldeans, into the ships over which they rejoice.
