看啊，你的軍隊就像柔弱的女人，你境內的關口向敵人敞開，你的門閂被火燒毀。

錫安的城門陷入地中，主摧毀、砍斷她的門閂。她的君王和首領流落異鄉，律法不復存在，她的先知得不到從耶和華而來的異象。

敵人要攻擊巴比倫的假先知，使他們顯出愚昧；敵人要攻擊巴比倫的勇士，使他們充滿恐懼；敵人要攻擊巴比倫人的戰車戰馬和他們的盟軍，使他們柔弱得像婦女；敵人要攻打他們的庫房，肆意搶奪他們的財寶。

人們都必雙手發軟，膽戰心驚，驚恐萬狀，痛苦不堪如同分娩的婦人。他們必面面相覷，羞愧得面如火燒。

強敵被擄掠，他們倒地而亡，再也不能還手。

到那日，當萬軍之耶和華揮拳懲罰的時候，埃及人必恐懼戰抖，如柔弱的女子。

「我耶和華膏立塞魯士為王，我牽著他的右手幫助他征服列國、降服列王；我使城門洞開，讓他通行無阻。我對他說，『我要走在你前面，為你鏟平高山，打破銅門，砍斷鐵閂。

我要折斷大馬士革城的門閂，剷除亞文平原的居民和伯·伊甸的掌權者，使亞蘭人被擄到吉珥。這是耶和華說的。」

因為祂使你的城門堅固，賜福給你的兒女。

渡口被佔，沼澤地被燒，戰士驚慌失措。』」

他們要攻取城池，佔領堡壘。那時，摩押的勇士像臨盆的婦人一樣心驚膽戰。

因為祂打碎了銅門，砍斷了鐵閂。

他們對她所受的災禍充滿恐懼，就遠遠地站著說，『強大堅固的巴比倫城啊，真悲慘！真悲慘！因為審判頃刻間臨到你了。』

我要使她的首領、謀士、省長、總督和勇士都酩酊大醉，長眠不醒。」這是君王——萬軍之耶和華說的。
